You do know #21 plays one side, right? I looked at the highlights and there were 4 catches by Miles Austin, none against Aso. I know Aso gave up at least one catch, but it wasn't in the highlights.
I was rooting for the Jets, in case u still have a hard time reading. But I guess u were rooting for your man love for Miles Austin.
I actually have no idea who Nnamdi Asomugha is. It wasn't on a youtube highlight reel? Probably didn't count then.
I give Miles Austin credit for preventing and interception on that play. It was a very rare thing to happen and 9 time out of 10 Cromartie comes down with that ball. It was a pretty amazing play to even catch it in the first place. If he made the pic people would talking about it all week as one of the most amazing plays of the week. But on the first touch down he most definitely just got beat. He was out of position and made a desperate swat at the receiver. That being said it was Romo to Bryant, 2 very good players when they are hot. If it were lesser players they might not have even capitalized on Cromartie's error. But remember the only only reason they were even that far down the field was the amazing complete to Bryant over REVIS. As much as want out corners to be perfect, good players will find ways to make completions when they need to. The good part is we still have the rest of the season for Cro to get back in our good graces!
Still don't know what I'm supposed to read. I guess if your username was "Boys n Jets", then you'd be more of a Cowboy fan? ...but Jets come first, so that matter more. ...and the only man love I have is for myself...obviously.
I can't believe you have the gall to accuse anyone of editorializing. I gave a description of the play as it happened with Dez. This above... rhapsodic jibber jabber. Some of the rest of your post has some merit, but I really can't get past this. Here's your take on the TDs Cromartie gave up, and I'm going to let the Austin TD go because it's not a glaring matter of technique in that case... Now, let me REALLY editorialize. Pre-snap: Cromartie's hips are square, which is good because he can adjust to either side if it's an option route. Post-snap, scene 1: Bryant's first step leaves his hips open, indicating that he's most likely going to give a quick fake before executing his route. Cromartie is on his toes already trying to recover his balance. Post-snap, scene 2: Bryant executes a shoulder-fake to the inside, Cromartie reacts inside because he's already off balance to that side. Note that Bryant's HIPS are already turned to the outside. (Hint) next post, image constraints
cont'd Post-snap, scene 3: Cromartie, hopelessly fooled on the shoulder fake, reaches up and gets a firm grasp on the lace locks of Bryant's shoulder pads, in a moment of panic, and drags his weight backwards for dear life, further taking himself out of position to defend the pass. Post-snap, scene 4: Cro uses his immense athletic talent to help his partially recover the route, and gets his head around. Post-snap, scene 5: Cromartie makes the mistake of taking the time to turn his back for position on the receiver, attempting to box him, but Bryant was already in position and his the air. Cro is still trying to fumble for balance that will never get there in time. Post-snap, scene 6: In a play incorrectly termed by some a 'jump-ball', Cromartie's feet barely leave the ground. Here's your near-perfect technique.
I have given Miles Austin plenty of credit for that play in this thread. He's head and shoulders above Cromartie in pretty much all areas except top-end speed. It was all about heart. Austin wanted it more. Kudos to Cromartie for sticking his thumb up Austin's ass, though. That's a top 10 corner in action! Should I have just told you to die in a fire? I call him heartless because I've seen a distinct lack of heart and determination in many areas with Cro, over the past year. Do I know what's going on in his head? Nope. But I can imagine it has something to do with what piece of tail he has lined up after the game. It was a fade. Cromartie bit on the fake (see the post above) and he didn't even get airborne. He was owned. Yes, the probability of a corner giving up a TD to an athletic guy like Bryant on the goal line is pretty high. But those odds should go way down when you have a 'top 10 cornerback' covering him. Sure don't. But when he moves in the same direction as the shoulder fake while the hips and feet both indicate the opposite direction, I can make a pretty fuckin solid educated guess. Cromartie was targeted 5 times on Sunday night. He allowed 4 receptions on those 5 targets, 2 for touchdowns and 2 for first downs. Top 10 cornerback, right? 8 mil per year? Pfft. Apparently not. Re-watch it on Saturday. No apologies necessary. Some sincerity would be a refreshing change of pace, however. It seems that pretty much everyone is little known to you, outside the comfort of the draft forum. The title of the thread is "Is Cromarie worth his 4 year $32 million dollar contract?" 5 targets, 4 receptions, 2 first downs, 2 touchdowns. By the way, we were down by 14 points in the 4th quarter. Sure fuckin don't! I looked at the corners last night as you can see from the Cromartie numbers. 'Multiple times'? Really? Here's your multiple times: Mike Jenkins: 4 targets 1 reception allowed, for 2 yards Need some toilet paper to wipe those words off your pucker? He rounded off his corner and blasted Jenkins, and showboated like a punk afterward. Before that play, he hadn't caught a single reception against Jenkins the entire game. He caught the TD pass after the 'simple block'. Take a wild guess who wasn't covering him. Sometimes I wonder if you have ever played organized football. Yes, Campo is the secondary coach. Position coaches adhere to the prioritized techniques dictated by the DC's schemes, they tailor their drills and classroom sessions to that DC's demands. The DC doesn't simply send them off to the other side of the field all day long and tell them 'go do cornerback stuff.' Coaches of Ryan's stature don't get there simply by understanding only one position and it's importance. Your simplistic take on it above makes me wonder about you. I've read Rex's 46 book and I see the overall philosophy of that defense being incorporated into the Jets' defensive gameplans. You don't have to be sitting in the film room with him to get the overall picture. Ooh. You mean they diversified the menu? I'll take a huge, steamin' plate of ostrich plz! Here's your new avatar.
... agree with the poster who stated ... it was his free agent value at the time his contract was up so to get him, yes he was worth it ... ... if we had gotten aso that would have been a dream team ... ... aso didn't agree to take what we offered ... ... next best option available was cro ... ... if he had not come back we were in deep $h*t ... ... he is def at least top 5 best #2 cb in football ... l_j_r
got the wrong person. don't know what the hell you are talking about. go back and find ONE post about me talking about Conner. I have NEVER EVEN POSTED ONE THING ABOUT NOT WANTING TO DRAFT CONNER! Get your sh*t right before calling me out. By the way, second time you have me mistaken for someone else. But of course, you know everything so....... And don't ignore this post like the last time I called you out for mistaking me for the wrong person.
He might not be confused. You have posted about Connor before, right after he was drafted. You actually made a thread about him.
You are right, I meant to say I never said we shouldnt have drafted him. Where did I say that? I made a joke ab out drafting a robot chasing skateboarding punk (Terminator) and that I thought we would draft DL depth, but never said we shouldnt have drafted him.
He probably didn't mistake you for someone else. He saw your post, assumed you had a beef with him before in the Draft Forum, did a search of your threads started and posts in the Draft forum, saw no real beef between you so he hen-pecked a thread where you question trading up for a fullback when you saw another need, to try to make you feel stupid. That's the editorial version, anyway.
