online has already turned me off much like last yr. most notable is the innate lag. my connection is fine, madden is just choppy and/or a second late my first 4 attempts at playing online, all 4 opponents quit within the early 2nd qtr when ive either taken a lead while holding them to 3 points or less, or where im shutting down their offense and getting a rhythym going with no huddle. my favorite was someone who used the eagles. trying to get cheap with Vick and Jackson when i just ran a 3-3-5 and qb spied almost every down. needless to say all this has done is affirm my decision that offline is a better use of my time.
Ha, yeah, I'm just trying to get my points skill up so they put me against better players. As of now I'm 7-0.
about to buy this game for PS3 (am bidding on ebay)...If you guys are active with this game...Would like to play you all once i get used to it. Played the demo and enjoyed it. Best thing in this game is franchise mode?
Every pass I throw with Sanchez is either ten feet over the guys head or 5 yards wide. Mind you I'm no Madden pro, but in my Franchise mode Sanchez has a completion percentage of 45% :breakdance: Oh well, at least the Defense is BEAST
Do you know how to scout without having to use 2000 coins? Just like the normal scouting feature that you could look at before a game?
Is that because you pick the same money plays over and over, or are you actually playing it like a football game?
Simple Guidelines to play by: 1) mix your plays up 2) let the defense get set 3) Dont quit 4) Don't call ridiculous packages (Dime or Quarter when the offense is in a 2 WR set.) 5.) If I see anyone put a HB in at FB, I swear i'll kick you square in the nuts for being a homo. 6) Dont drop back 15 yards, don't roll out on every pass, and don't call playaction on unrealistic situations (3rd and 15) 7) I know you like to use Chris Johnson but not every play is a HB Toss to the outside. 8) If you motion a player, let them get set. I'll play anyone in here to a real, legit, respectful game. In other words, don't beat the game beat the player...or I'll call you out for being the fairy that you are
When people say mix up plays, do they mean on defense too? I have always felt on defense that if you're playing, let's say cover 3, and the opponent cannot do anything with it you are allowed to keep doing it. However, I totally agree that on offense different plays should be called.
I agree with all of the above except the one in bold, that is real football at its finest. I move my players around, may press coverage or show blitz. If I wait to long to show blitz and hit the button and the balls snapped that's on me.
I agree, there are a lot of times on defense I am trying to do something and the ball gets snapped before I'm able to. It's the game.
No. It applies to all. Calling any money play, whether on defense or offense is lame and is strictly prohibited in any sim league that is worth playing in. You're not game-planning when you pick the same defensive play over and over, regardless if the opponent can't adapt. I'm sure you can pick other plays that will work as well if you know what your opponent is trying to do. Why do you think I asked before if you were mixing it up. I never forget an opponent.
The game can't adapt as fast as it should and there are times that the AI gets confused when it shouldn't. I think it's more a respect factor to let your opponent set up their defense. For example if you see the defense resetting because of a clearly blown coverage, at least allow them the time to move their players until they can align with their coverage. Just a rule that my league plays by. I can see it going both ways, but I really hate it when I get a freebee because the AI gets flustered with certain formations. It's equally as frustrating when you are on the receiving end. Also, thanks for the reminder. Another thing that irritates me. Don't play press coverage and blitz all game. I understand trying to run a high pressure defense but there needs to be some sort of variation. Even Revis and the Jets defense doesn't play bump or blitz like that. Use it as a team in the NFL would.
I dont get this, if a D was using cover 3 and it worked every play, the D would in real life would keep doing it.
Keep in mind you are playing a video game, so there are some things that don't directly translate into real life and are considered a legitimate strategy. At that point you are beating the game. Again, use of the same play typically is prohibited because there are certain money plays that work almost every time. Unfortunately I know a lot of them for certain gameplay styles, but I still refuse to use them. If you need to run the same defensive plays to win, then I guess that's on you.
