I watched the game again tonight and on a night where Romo pretty much picked apart our defense Wilson was not having any part of that. He quietly played really well this week. I felt he looked more comfortable and confident out there. He looked like he belonged. Not only was he solid in coveage but he also tackled well and put some pressure on the QB. It's not time to anoint him just yet but I am looking forward to seeing this kid develop.
He played great. He allowed one catch all night and it was on a 3rd down where they didn't pick it up...he also tackled very well as usual.
He was always gonna be good. His coverage was always tight he just needed to start being aware of the ball in the air.
I think I mentioned it in another thread. People were worried about his pre-season. It seemed the Jets CB's, without a kid in every state of the union, were playing uber soft coverage, so it wasn't a very good gauge. He was good and when Revis and Cro sat out a series or 2 for their issues there was no appreciable fall off. That is a significant improvement for sure. Hopefully he can continue his improvement because he is going to be needed more so.
He looked totally awesome, big relief that it looks like he's going to be an impact player this year. Since I can't start my own thread yet...anybody have any ideas to start containing teams with 1 really good (or god forbid 2) TE's? Does Wilson fit in there anywhere? Does anyone else?
How about when he was on Bryant or Austin when Revis and Cro cramped up? Leave the football thinking to the adults.
And who were covering #1 and #2? Revis may be an all-pro cover corner, but he cannot cover anybody when he's sitting on the sideline. (Same for Cro)
And holy shit, you mean after a typical rookie season for a CB and dedicating himself in the offseason he got better?!?!?!?!!? No way!
