Well this is a digression, and "deserve" is a tricky question, but I think the Jets would have been better off if they had not fired Walt Michaels.

Meh. Lots of pure speculation regarding Woody's views of Schotty.

But let's say Ryan really thought the team would see an upgrade in performance by changing out Schotty. I mean he expected taht would happen, and be evident in the team's performance, as all here who think Schotty should have been shit canned long ago think.

If Ryan thought that, he goes ahead and tells Woody has to go every day of the week. Because how ever much Ryan actually felt, agreeing with your pure speculation, that Woody likes BS, Woody likes winning more, and Ryan knows it. So, if Ryan agreed with you, Schotty would have already been fired, all the rest of your post notwithstanding.

Sorry I missed this earlier. Michaels was a stark raving drunk lunatic and without a doubt the only HC who shouldn't have been fired.

What makes you think that Schotty had nothing to do with that td?

If you were gonna kill him for the first 27 minutes I wouldn't have said shit but you try to kill him for that drive? All the big plays came off of plays called in the huddle.

Everything else before that last drive was pretty bad. Gotta figure out how to keep ware out of the backfield for more than 2 seconds.

The first half can hardly support you BS supporters. Three straight passes on the first 3 and out. Until the TD just before the half, the only drive where the Jets started to move the ball was when they gave the ball to Shonn Greene, then what do they do? They replace him with LT and he doesn't touch the ball again the rest of the half, and I heard or saw nothing to indicate that Greene was injured.

Jenkins goes out for several plays and does BS test his replacement? No. Scandrick goes out and do they test his replacement? No. It's like trying to take advantage of a mismatch is a no-no in BS' book.

Come close to even threatening to score in the 1st Qtr (much less actually scoring)? No.

Mostly 3 and outs, but I don't blame BS for that. The Jets' OL played like THEY were the ones with 3 new starters who only had one start between them. Hunter improved, but still was struggling. I'm not sold on him as Woody's replacement. Finally, on the last drive a sighting of a Jets' screen to slow down the pass rush! No draw plays or other plays to slow down the rush.

The D was pretty bad too. Rob's D definitely outplayed Rex's D, but that's for another thread.

The glaring problem to me throughout that half was not keeping a TE in to block. If we wanna take advantage of mismatches on the outside Sanchez needs some protection which he wasn't getting by spreading everyone out.

In the matchup between Rob Ryan and Brian Schottenheimer, Ryan kicked his ass for the majority of the first half. Lets see what BS does (or doesn't do) in the 3rd qtr.

I agree with that. I don't think I saw a TE in tight to even chip Ware first, much less stay in and help Hunter.

    Wtf?

3rd and 1 with Conner and Greene on the roster and they pass? That is inexcusable. These three and outs must stop and BS has to go.

That's what I was screaming too.

I'm convinced his contract won't be renewed.

I think Schottenheimer called a very strong second half tonight.

I'm not going to outright 'bash' here but these long fade plays on 3rd and short have got to stop
