I fully expect the Jets to start out slow on offense, but warm up in the second quarter. I also predict firemanedjr, soxxx, and anyone with "mets" in their name will throw Sanchez under the bus in that slow first quarter, only to be ridiculed when the Jets pick it up later and win. Same old pussies.
just get the W and leave healthy. im curious to see the gameplan for witten in the middle and the backs in the flats. they have premier talent to attack both. the defense needs to come out and make a statement this game. otherwise we'll have to hear the Rex Ryan talk too much? shit all week. and how if sanchez is so clutch he needed to win an emotional home opener if were to compete with the pats
TheJetsStream Manish Mehta Cowboys rookie RT (+1st rd pick) RT @espn_macmahon Tyron Smith will practice today. Garrett: "He's made some progress over last couple days" What a surprise
DeMarcus Ware http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/da...tch-up-thinks-jenkins-and-smith-will-play.ece On how to defend the Jets: I look at that running attack. From a defensive aspect, they always talk about how they ground and pound, so that’s one place we need to stop them to make Sanchez make passing decisions. On not knowing where he’s going to line up in Rob Ryan’s defense: I think that’s a good thing because you can get mismatches. You’re not always on the right side or the left side. With me, I try to put pressure coming from different angles, and I think that helps out a lot. And then you look at all the other guys like Jay [Ratliff] and Brady [James], they’re coming from different places too. They’ve got more than just me to look for. On how he’d approach the Cowboys' offensive line in the wake of Tyron Smith's injury: I would stick my best pass rusher on that side and see what that guy has. But the weird thing is, the guy that’s usually behind [the starter], they don’t know anything about him. Or a guy like [Smith], they play against him a little bit, but they don’t know how he’s going to react in a big game. Sometimes, if you don’t know, that can hurt you a little bit. On whether he thinks Mike Jenkins or Tyron Smith will play on Sunday: I think we’ll see both of them. I think we will. On facing Jets tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson: I’ve just got to tear down that mortar between those bricks and break him down. A guy like D’Brickashaw Ferguson, he’s a good player, and you’ve just got to outsmart him. He’s just as good of an athlete as anybody on the field, but eventually you’ve just got to try to outwork him. He gets tired too.
I don't see where anybody else has mentioned it yet so I will..hope people don't stay away because of the current terrorist threat. The stadium would be an obvious target, especially with national coverage. I say fuck them, let them try.
This is a statement game for the Jets. Show the world how good they are on national television against "America's Team" on 9/11.
What's sad here is that people not realizing that Sanchez IS a playmaker. How many times has he escaped a sack and hit a receiver right on his hands...many. or Just look @ Det. Hou and Cle games last year plus the playoffs in Indy and...well, you get it. When Sanchez is asked to make plays, he does. Problem is our OC tries so hard to have him play a "controlled/low risk" offense that ironically he only shines when there's pressure to do so. idk about you guys but to me, that's a fukin playmaker! but, H8rs gon H8.
You have three new OL guys that have like 1 NFL game among them - against a Rex Ryan defense - one that apologized to their fans because they fell to the 3rd best in the NFL last year. You might want to have some Alka-Seltzer close by during the game. You also have, at best, a weak secondary to contain Plaxico Burress , Santonio Holmes, Derrick Mason, and Dustin Keller - a TE that Bret Favre thought had the potential be another Dallas Clark Better make that 2 boxes of plop-plop-fizz-fizz.
Let's just hope they get the ball out of his hands in 3 seconds the majority of the time, especially early. And keep him over 60% compl. %
My main concern against their offense is Jason Witten. He is going to tear us up if Romo has any time to throw.
Yeh, that whole gotta get a 60% bullshit from the cs just irks me. Fuk stats and all that BS, If they woulda called a better gameplan in Week 1 vs the Ravens we woulda had home field and who knows what else. Let's just hope Moore gets to Shotty because if we get another dud from our OC in a primetime week 1 matchup, we're gonna be pissed beyond belief!
Witten and Jones out of the backfield are big concerns. After preseason any RB who can catch a ball is a concern.
