After not having cable for a couple days and my OnDemand not working...finally just watched the most recent episode. Genius stuff
Just watched ep1 of s4. Wow. E wasn't kidding when he said I don't even know. Gotta find a new do2 tho, mine keeps freezing
Dumbfucks that don't watch this show, don't read below this line: ... ... ... Well, the infamous box-cutter scene wasn't the only thing I was referring to when you mentioned the episode after the twins attempted assassination of Hank. The Chicken Man also had that little kid murdered just to prove a point to Jesse.
Am I the only one that thinks the old man (name escaping me) is in his current condition because of Gus. It seems like he keeps visiting him waiting for the day he taps out. LOST couldn't pull off as meaning a flashback as that one. At least there is no more mystery behind why Gus hates the Mexican dealers anymore. Walt trying to pretend he is the alpha dog while he is still just a scared little bitch is interesting. He likely signed Hank's death sentence this week. Also loved the Chile references. I knew Gus was from South America, but for obvious reasons (he's black) assumed he was from Brazil. I've been to Chile three times and never seen anyone darker than a native american. My wife's mother never saw a black man until she visited the states. My guess is he is not from Chile at all.
The old man is Hector, who is the same guy who shot Gus's "brother" in the flashback. I love the fact that Gus visits him just to torment him and piss him off. I am also quite curious to learn about Gus's background and the chile history.
That's Tio Hector. :ding ding ding ding ding ding: I think he's just a stroke victim. You can't really do that to someone. That was an incredibly awesome scene. Hector told him he should stick to chicken. He visits him to show him what he's become - he's full of pride, just like Walter. When Gus says "look at me", he wants Hector to see the person that's fucked his world up. Blood for blood. Can Gus have Hank killed without drawing attention to himself? I don't think so. He's fucking pissed though. The scene in the elevator after the interrogation showed that. ...can't wait to find out who he actually is.
In the flashback scene Gus and the hermano are like White and Pinkman. The cook says at one point he's my partner I Need him, etc...Walt says that a lot. Now the question remains, can Gus/Walter prevent history from repeating itself? Gus, being in the same situation, knows how dangerous a desperate man can be. Walter, is making the same mistake Gus made, he's involved people he loves. That's a weakness they can exploit.
I'm in the wrong thread to argue LOST vs. Breaking Bad (and I don't really want to....they are both great shows), but let's not forget that LOST pretty much invented the epic flashback.
