Jets won't be putting Drew Willy on practice squad, per source. Interesting development. #nyj

Has to make you think they are about to grab another QB unless they really will have Kerley serve as the number 3.

Or he didn't clear waivers..he looked pretty good for a backup in that last game, that could be it.

It probably means that McElroy's recovery time will be shorter than previously thought or he was picked up by another team.

Either way, this is good for the Jets.

We don't need to waste a practice squad spot on a quarterback when we have someone like McElroy to develop into a backup.

It gives our staff more flexibility and we can bring in a player at a more needed position.

Just have to worry if Brunell will hold up even for a week or two. He has yet to see the field and if he goes down all we have is Kerley until McElroy heals. Seems like that is taking a huge risk.

I could care less if we picked him up, I just hate seeing that the Pats picked up their 4th pro bowler (so far) to improve their team which went 14-2 last year.

Hopefully Waters is 2011's Alan Faneca

The Chiefs, who have a god awful offensive line, opted not to bring Brian Waters back. Waters has anchored their offensive line for years.

That tells me that he's done, son.

Is KC's offensive line that bad? They had a sick running game last year and Cassel only got sacked 26 times.

the patriots run blocking got a whole lot better. i know slauson even this early is better in pass pro but theres no denying Waters can still open lanes.

im just saying ill be suprised if this is another one of the pats vets pickups that flame out

They're bad in pass protection. I don't care how many times Cassel was sacked, he was running for his life on most passing downs. Both of their tackles are garbage.

The Alan Faneca comparison can definitely be made here.

I'm not saying it can't but by saying that you are saying Bellishit can no longer judge talent. I hope you're right.

Extra cap room this year can be moved into future years in the new cba. The jets will be using that extra space to resign vets... Just not this season.

    No, I'm not saying that.

The Patriots needed help at guard because Dan Connelly is injured. Bringing in a vet like this is a smart move. I just think Brian Waters can't play at a high level anymore.

This season is all that matters. People retire, you make cuts and the cap probably goes up next year. Nobody saves money for next year.

Jets have claimed C Colin Baxter, per source. An undrafted center out of Arizona cut yesterday by Chargers. #nyj

Man, I really hope Callahan and the scouting dept know what the fuck they're doing. Is it too difficult to get a friggin' vet?
    Must have faith...

Robert Turner and Brandon Moore were undrafted.

That should be enough information for you to stop your bitching.

I hope you realize that if these guys don't hold up, they'll be released and we can make other moves.

I know, I know... and I love rooting for undrafted players. It just seems... well, a bit odd.

We'll see... curious on who they'll cut.

At this point, the Jets should take a look at as many versatile offensive lineman as possible.

Caleb Schlauderaff and Colin Baxter can both play guard and center. Versatility is a great thing to have in your backup linemen.

Baxter started 49 games at Arizona. That's some pretty good experience and toughness right there.
