He was on the roster for the final game last season. I just don't see much upside from a 5'8" 30 year old player that played mostly in the minor leagues.
i dont know... they really liked him last year, hell he was active for a couple games, and when we tried to sneak him to our PS, the Eagles snatched him up, we grabbed him immediately after he was cut. I think we like the guy a lot. Whether we like him enough to give him a spot on the 53, I don't know. But, I would not be extremely shocked, surprised yes, but not OMG how did we cut him? shocked, if Brodney Pool is let go. If we like Cook that much, with Lowery likely the 3rd safety anyways, letting pool walk opens up a spot since he won't play teams anyways....
good point. Wonder why they would bring him in so late in the game though? What sense does it make to only cut him 2 says later not even seeing him play or practice for that matter.
But Payne and McElroy are injured. Either the Jets will have to carry Payne as 1 of the 53 (like Turner) or IR him. The Jets will face a tough choice on McElroy. Either they have to put him on IR or to carry him PLUS a 4th QB (Wily or someone not currently on the roster). The Jets may well start the season with a 53 man roster but only have 50 to draw from, and may have to include 4 QBs.
They're not eligible because they began camp on the active roster. Only players who cannot practice at the start of training camp can be placed on the PUP list. I think.
Players must start the preseason on the PUP list. A team cannot put a player on PUP after he has participated in any practice.
That would be crazy! I don't mean crazy in a "wtf are you talking about" way. I mean it in a "wow, I can't believe it happened" kinda way. I really like Lowery. I hope you're wrong but you make a good point.

You'd think that the ability of something like the MLB's DL would have been discussed come the lockout, especially when guys are bound to get hurt moving forward in such a year without a whole lot of time to practice... Also if Bellore is cut, a team will snatch him up. Giants despite running a 4-3 would run quick to get him to let him get time as a backup OLB, especially with Clint Sintim gone for the year. He torched the Giants in game 3 that must have wowed the Giants.
According to one of his sources, Manish Mehta is reporting that Nick Bellore will be on the 53 man roster. ...maybe Berning will end up on the practice squad?
Than we are going to be cutting a significant player, I expect McIntyre to make the team. Probably will cut Lankster, too bad he deserves a shot. Maybin & Gilbert are as good as gone.
I think the Jets can keep Maybin because of the fact that he chose them over other teams when he was let go and has produced in the chances he was given in the preseason. I can see Gilbert and McIntyre to be gone however....which would be a shame.
I really think Rex loves "the kid from Canada",....McIntyre will make the 53. Too bad we don't have any more ND players you can hang your hat on!!!
