One could reinforce said argument after tonight's game...

One could also make the case McIntyre has shown more than Westerman this offseason.

if he's not on the roster (unlikely) they better put jones on the PS and hope he doesn't get picked up by anyone, guy has talent, did in college, issue was health, still got a ways to go (besides staying healthy) but he has real upside and looked solid tonight

What injuries did he have in college? Since both you & E brought it up I'm guessing he spent a lot of time of the field.

Good news....according to Greg Buttle, it sounds like we are keeping 70 players.

Lankster is an excellent ST player, I'm rooting for him to make the 53.

Would you keep him over Cook? I'm really torn on that one... luckily I don't have to make a choice!

What's you're opinion on Posey? Many beat writers are talking him up...

I think there's a real chance we only carry 4 WRs to make room for McIntyre and a veteran OL... we have a lot of talented young LBs and what's the point of having 5 WRs if your QB doesn't have the time to throw it to them..

I believe Lankster isn't eligible for the PS. I really have keyed on Teams and Lankster is a terrific teams player.

Cook will probably make the team by default, he's Ok nothing special.

Posey is raw and looks small, he could be a PS player.

Agreed. The depth of the O-line is brutal. I know you aren't allowed to say anything anti-Ducasse here (because you know....he's a "project"), but right now, he sucks ass. I'd prefer a serviceable, experienced O-lineman over an extra WR right now.

Jets have to be looking for an experienced O-lineman in a few days after the cuts.

Vlad will make the team, but this year (2011) it's either "shit or get off the pot".

The thing with Ducasse is... I think he will be serviceable in jumbo packages this year. It's a lot easier to play than just being on the edge as a T and he's pretty good in run blocking. He'd also have less responsabilities...

My problem with him is I don't want him to come in in case Hunter or Ferguson get hurt (god forbid). I think this year we should bring in someone who's decent in pass protection so we don't get Sanchez killed in case one of the starters goes down. Even if he's sup-bar in run blocking...

While your point about the QB having time to throw is valid, keeping only 4 WRs would be a HUGE mistake imo, especially considering Plax' injury history and both his and Mason's ages. What if they both go down with injuries? Even with Keller and Cumberland, we don't want to be in a situation where our only two healthy WRs who know the system are Holmes and Kerley. In that case, I doubt Kerley would see any more STs action. DePalma has looked very good as both a return man on punts and KOs and as a gunner. I don't see any way he makes it to the PS. If the Jets want to keep him around, I think he has to make the roster.

Couldn't tell you what exactly, and it's not that he missed major chunks of time and missed a ton of games, but he just always had issues. Even if it wasn't him missing games, he just had nagging injuries and what not that many believe sapped his play (one attribute to why he didn't translate as well as many thought coming out of HS).

The guy will play anything you ask and does have the tools and effort. If he can get himself straightened out and synch up his mental and physical game, he can be a solid NFL player, even if it's as a backup his whole career.

Honestly I think in the 3-4 the guy could range anywhere from at some point an NFL starter to a guy who can't make a team. That's how wide I think his range is. It's going to end up on if he can stay healthy, gets a real legitimate shot in the NFL and if those two things happen, what he does with it, because the size and skill is there.

Ducasse is a walking QB injury and should not make the team. The Jets have no room for a player who is that much of a liability. He looked like a matador tonight. Cut bait and sign a veteran.

Josh Baker or Patrick Turner? I'd always lean towards the wideout when the tight end isn't much of a blocker.

Seems like atm we're keeping Payne on the 53 man roster which should mean goodbye Turner and Baker (although both are PS candidates).

PS Baker can develop into a good blocker imo. Was at FB last night...
