Yeah well that was a beat reporter, he could be a total homer. This preseason just stinks as it is too difficult to tell how much of the bad oline play is lack of preparation or that they just flat out suck.
There rookie RT from USC looks really good, his name eludes me though, but the guards and center are week, bring pressure up the middle, and the middle of there defense is super slow, Bradie James, Sensabaugh, Elam etc, but there gonna bring great pressure with Spencer and Ware
Rah rah rah beats the Cowboys and other junk. Seriously though, we should win this game handily if the offense doesn't start off slow, which has been the usual since Schotty started calling plays for us. I hope we get Sanchez in rhythm with some slants and some TE seam routes. Those are his best thrown plays.
ive been watching him this preseason. physically hes up to it. but ive watched him miss some very easy blitz pickup reads. basically he ducassed it a lil this preseason. lol
Rex and Rob are going to blitz their little heads off the first few games. It should be fun to see how sack numbers increase this year in the first part of the season. I think that injury pool they were thinking of doing in the BS forum, should have a bunch of starting QB's on it.........
Is Newman going to play? Dallas secondary is awful, Sanchez should be able to pick them apart provided Ware isn't in his grill pre snap.
Lol I am too beat up from hockey to do that....bad luck. I am currently going to PT for My knee, shoulder and back. I am afraid of reverse karma or something. I am held together with duct tape......lol
Their o-line looks to be: Free - Nagy(7th round rookie) - Costa(2nd year UDFA) - Kosier - Smith (1st round rookie) We better do some work on that line, their interior looks shaky at best.
The biggest thing going for us, right now, is that the Cowboys secondary is really suspect. Jenkins and Newman are both dealing with injuries, so Holmes should be able to get over the top at least a couple times and we need to take advantage.
17-13 Romo steps back for the game winner from 12 yards out and get's smashed from the blind side by rex ryan, Jets win!
Yea,Tyron Smith is a beast! My biggest concern on O is our routine slow starts and Demarcus Ware. My concern on D is the fact that we don't get pressure with our lineman at all. This may hurt us against the Cowboys more than other teams because guys like Choice and Jones are beast in the open field. If we blitz and they throw to the flats, we could be in for a long day. I think we'll be fine though. I'd hit them with a heavy dose of Shonn Greene. Even with Rob Ryan, I don't think they have the guts to beat us at smashmouth, snotbubble football. They're divas. Only a sissy plays with stars on their helmet. j/k
Somebody needs to find that thread about the role of the down lineman in the 3-4 defense and make it a sticky thread again. EDIT: Found it. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=63070
I'm pretty sure that thread won't include our D-line playing do si do with the opponents O-Line. I'm not saying we need a sack on every play but if you think our D-Line gets enough pressure, you must think the Jets can do no wrong. Bottom line is, if we have to keep taking excess guys out of coverage to generate any type of rush, Felix Jones can pick us apart with short throws for big yardage. Sticky that
Just a couple of notes I took recently Key Addition = Rob Ryan Last year stats: Offense Passing 6.7 yds per pass attempt Rushing 4.2 yds per rush attempt Passing TDs - 29 Rushing TDs - 10 Defense Passing 6.8 yds per pass attempt Rushing 4.3 yds per rush attempt Passing TDs - 33 Rushing TDs - 11
Anyone going to be at the game? Tailgating plans? I'll be going to my first NYJ at home from Toronto Canada. Just want to make my first NYJ game a great experience.
