Here's my thought process on this. Sanchez started as a rookie...why not have a backup who's a rookie? Make Brunell the number 3...if you have to keep him. I'm just saying we have considerable talent past the starters that it would be a shame to waste a roster spot. Kind of like the waste that comes from keeping a kick off specialist, fg kicker & punter. Why?

From what I've seen of McElroy he has the skills and the moxie to handle a few snaps here and there and/or a game. Just opining here.

I don't mind keeping Brunell, because we're unlikely to better at the backup spot at this late juncture. If he sucks, I'm confident McElroy can step in. Here's hoping Sanchez stays healthy.

I think cut/keep otherwise is going to come down to tomorrow night. The only guys who I'd enthusiastically keep?

    Nick Bellore, Garrett McIntyre.

I understand that people are naturally excited about McElroy but let's not go overboard. Even if they did decide to have McElroy as #2 what sense does it make to cut Brunell? What would happen if our #1 and #2 were injured? We'd be completely fucked. I don't think using a roster spot on a veteran backup QB could be considered a waste no matter how you cut it.

bellore and mauga at ILB we have 0 depth otherwise

westerman hasnt looked as good as rex advertised. but shouldnt be suprising considering the rimjob he gave gholston last year.

we seriously need a legit prospect in the draft next year early. im sick of a complete lack of pass rush, rex sending everything but the kitchen sink, only for TE's over the middle and RB's in the flats to rape us

I 100% agree. We get raped by mediocre RB's in the flats...not because our LBs suck but because we have to send so many guys to get pressure. That needs to be objective #1 in the draft and/or FA next year.

Sanchez was a rookie taken in the 1st round. McElroy was taken in the 7th if I'm not mistaken. Brunell is a serviceable back up. McElroy isn't ready for that #2 spot yet.

IMO Brunell will be used if Sanchez gets injured during a game. If (God forbid) Sanchez is going to miss several games to injury, than I think we would see McElroy start.

    I'm glad you're OK, but...

You mention saving all that time. Is that because you're driving in between lanes like all the lunatics in LA? One of those asshats scraped my hand going by me when I was smoking. I almost killed another one that was doing at least 90 in a 55 trying to pass me on the right. He almost wiped but pulled it out and just accelerated.

Of course, the LA area is also where cars flip over and burst into flames for no apparent reason, so no idea how you guys do things in the north.

Another rookie would be running the wildcat all day. That needs to be the 4th option, so Brunell stays without a doubt.

First off I would say we lack Oline depth.
TE's: tough I like all of them and Mulligan can block as well as catch in the last game.
Baker can make some good catches also. I think Cumberland is the best catching the ball and Mulligan can block as well as catch. It will come down to Cumberland and Mulligan, and I like Cumberland to secure a spot.

LB's: I like Mauga, Westerman, and Bellore to get a roster spot although McIntyre is in the mix as well. I love Maybins speed but do not know if thats enought.

WR's: Patrick Turner all the way but I can not count out Payne.

    DTs: Dixon and MTV

    DE's: Ropi>Pryce

S: I like Emanual Cook here

    CB's: Marquice Cole

I only mensioned who I like to make this years squad for roster spots.
We are set on the starters.

Prince of Thieves, I agree some things

Satele has not showed me anything.
    Felix = yeah!
#50 McIntyre, allways around the ball, I see #50 alot.
Mulligan is a good blocker and showed on his last outing he can catch too. Whoever we cut at TE and RB will definitly be snatched up.
Gilbert? I think we keep MTV and Dixon.
Cook's a keeper from what I have seen.

I must be missing something. I could have sword Lance Laurey was a FA after last season with us. Is he back on the roster? I've seen like 5 posters mention him.

Why are you preparing for what's going to happen if Sanchez gets hurt?? If that happens the season's pretty shot anyway.

I do ride in between lanes...it's called lane splitting. Legal in CA. The difference, though, from what you describe is it's only legal to go 5mph faster than traffic is moving. Those guys flying by will die one day. In this case I was actually going with the flow....but I feel you. Those idiots make us all look bad.

Because he is old and is not a good back up.
