Erm, by the way Rich, the defense gave up three whole points and forced two turnovers against a Super Bowl champion quarterback. No?

Even when Cimini is right, he's such an unlikable cunt. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but snark and contempt seems to be the order of the day every day at the Daily Snooze. Either it's an awful place to work, or the collective body is unsatisfied with the fact that all their writing talents have amounted to is a long term beat writer position. I would say this applies specifically to former news writers Cimini and Rubin(who went to Wharton and as Omar Minaya so crudely and unjustly noted, wants a front office position) and current scumbag Andy Martino. I will say that while Frank Isola also falls into this category, he gets a pass because Dolan has stripped any and all of what once constituted the Knicks identity, and they haven't won since. He seems like a genuine fan.

Cimini only appears rational when everyone else is overreacting. A "rational" Cimini article comes out after the Jets under Rich Kotite have an undefeated preseason. In reality, that's just Cimini being consistent.

Doesn't he work for ESPN now?

  4. Yes, and he is cited as a "former" News writer.

  5. Why is it that other teams, like the Pats with Mike Reiss, have a cheerleader as their ESPN guy, while ESPN hires a guy from the Daily News with a reputation of hating the Jets to cover Gang Green?

It's very likely ESPN knew nothing about Rich Cimini and just knew he was the "highest profile" Jets beat writer so they hired him. That's a very ESPN thing to do.

    Bingo.

He's just awful. I found so much common cause with him when the Jets were bad, in my opinion, but as the team has flourished under Rex Ryan, I've taken note of the same miserable "it's all going to come crashing down any minute now" tone. It's tiresome and predictable.

They're not stupid. I'm sure they knew he who was and picked him because they thought he'd do the best job for whatever budget they had. But remember, the job is to write a lot of stories and attract interest, not to be objective.

Jints like to knock out QB's. Sanchez' healthy. Had he been hurt, Cimini would be practically creaming in his pants.

Sept. 11th: with the NYJ (and a healthy Sanchez) vs. Romo/Felix/Witten at HOME? Fine by me. Please "chirp" fellow attendees when on 'D' ....

As for the last pre-season game vs. Philly? Get our 70 yr. old southpaw fitted for his green uni, the Alabama 'Chad-lite' smart boy McE to survive and go from there. imho

Thats what I started to think UB.

That handoff has always been a strange one that P. Manning started to do years ago. When Sanchez first did it with Greene in the second half..the first handoff I thought to myself...that looked pretty damn familiar.

Its a difficult handoff to make..the qb needs to sprint to a position well to his right or left and deep in the backfield. Greene gained around 7 yards on the play. Then about 4 plays later..the same handoff.

Definiite Tom Moore touch...which is good thing.
