Greg McElroy looks about 6 inches taller than Sanchez but he's only listed as 6'2" which brings me to my point - Jets need to run plays where Sanchez rolls out and play action and 3 step timing patterns because he is'nt effective with a normal 5 step dropback and look for a reciever - I don't think he has good field vision. Jets need Drew Brees playbook for Sanchez.

Rex said that if this was a regular season game, Pouha would've played.

There was some swelling in his knee, and didn't want to risk further injury.

    Noob post. Sup.

Mark doesn't have that 'prototypical' qb heigh right? I see him listed @ 6-2. Point being I think I recall his height being a small concern coming out of USC--could be mistaken. Only bring it up as I feel like he has a shade more passes tipped/batted down at the line as opposed to your avg qb. Curious if stats or you guys agreed w that, as you brought up his height.

Idk about the Drew Brees playbook though. It helps when Drew Bress is throwing it.

I'm worried about the offense, the running game still sucked tonight. Thank goodness we start the season off no one really tough for the first 3 games.

I only watched the 1st half. The Jets offense didn't look good. While your D looked better, the int's looked like bad throws by Manning. On a side note, the crowd seemed quiet.

Defense, special teams and back ups looked good tonight.

The starting offense was offensive. That was mostly Sanchez and the zero separation by the WR's. They weren't in synch and Sanchez couldn't hit a 15 y/o girl with white McNight's dick tonight.

Couple of players looked much better in particular, among a few others:

    David Harris
    Kerley
    J. McKnight
Bellore (except when he butter fingered that fumble)
    Sean Grein
    V. Ducasse (much better tonight)

Hunter with a really stupid penalty tonight.

    1) He was heavily blitzed on both throws.
    2) This was a Giants "home" game.

    Might be worse.

Pretty sure the Cowboys are starting 3 OL with zero NFL experience.

You're an hour and a half late with that analysis, Columbo.

  16. I thought the first O had some positive signs.

-For the most part the O-line had a very good game and won the battle in the run and passing game. I was really impressed how they handled that Giants front 4 who can make alot of offenses look silly in a hurry. Sanchez had a couple hurry up throws but I thought that was more of a result of good coverage on the back end

    - Greene I thought had a good game running the ball. He never broke a big one, but had some impressive 4-6 yard carries and punished the Giants Lb's and DB's all night long. I'm willing to bet had he stayed in the game w/ the first team O, "ground and pound" would've broke a long one in the second half. That Giants D was starting to wear down.

    - I took Sanchez and the passing games struggles with a grain of salt. Clearly Sanchez needed to work out the kinks w/ Mason & Burress. That can be hard to do with an extremely vanilla route tree like we saw tonight. I thought w/ the exception of one bad pass to Burress over the middle...when the recievers got open Sanchez found them. As painful as it was to watch, Sanchez and this receiving corps needed an outing like this to work out the kinks. I'm not overly concerned, especially w/ the way they responded to that Giants field goal. Also give the Giants credit, they knew exactly how to cover Burress and did a good job tackling on the check downs.

I believe the offense will be fine.

I thought the 1st half playcalling by Schotty was pretty awful....yeah some of the blame has to go to Sanchez on his inaccurate throws but you have a 3rd and 1 and have Tomlinson run, who at this point has no burst anymore.

The 2nd half though....he was great. From the Kerley wildcat to having McElroy run out of the pocket and throw on the run(Where Greg is really comfortable at) to not taking any chances on their own 1 and just running the ball to open up punting space.

The 1st half Schotty playcalling was atrocious but the 2nd half playcalling was great...don't know what the heck that means lol
