Mike, you should offer a disclaimer of sarcasm just in case.

Pretty solid logic. I can get behind that.

Also, McElroy>Brady because he's thrown more passes this preseason than Brady.

... the 2nd most pressing need for improvement on our D (after generating more natural passrush with the front 7) is k-dub & the other guys covering the 3rd wr's & te's late over the middle of the field ...

... hernandez making some solid plays here is no different than what many other teams did to us throughout the season ...

When I firs opened the thread, and saw the Poll results, my initial reaction was to be ASHAMED I couldn't believe that. 30% of Pats fans REALLY thought that Hoyer was better than Sanchez???? I mean the thread was positively Jet fan-like....at least the JI version....and I said so.

The starter of the thread got back to me and explained his premise wasn't all black and white. It WAS pure speculation based on 2+ years of preseason games and the 2 re gular season games Hoyer had significant time on the field.

He premise was that, despite his average arm, the 2 qualities Hoyer showed RIGHT AWAY, was accuracy and good decision making, which happen to be 2 qualities Sanchez has somewhat lacked in HIS first 2 years. He was just wondering what Hoyer might have done if HE had been the Jets QB with the good OL, running game and elite defense.....AND the good accuracy and decision making he has shown in the brief sample we have seen

Now maybe after a 30+ games sample Hoyer's "apparent" good decision making and accuracy might NOT prove to be who his is. But it is STILL something reasonable to at at least ponder.....if you are a Pats fan. And the thread is not AS ridiculous as I thought at first glance.....

In fact Jet fans should take comfort that 70% of Pats fans STILL think that Sanchez would end up being the better QB.... If You really broke it down, 10% would vote Hoyer because of the laundry. 20% are Hoyer fans and really think he could start in this league....and succeed it he had the advantages Sanchez has had in his first 2 years, and 70% that agree with Jet fans

The problem with the pats fans position on sanchez' accuracy is that while his completion percentage is low I don't think anyone who has watched him play every game of his career would say he is an inaccurate passer. Decision making would be the bigger issue to me.

He does tend to throw high at the start of games but he usually settles down and shows accuracy after that. Basically he has shown that he is capable of being accurate and making good decisions for nice stretches we just need him to do that all the time.

Soooo because Hoyer looked good in some preseason games against backups, it's totally logical to think he would succeed in the big pressure games against STARTERS like Sanchez faces?

How come nobody here started a Brett Ratliff > Tom Brady thread I wonder?

Beli is Gronkowski's father. That's why he made the TE position.

Raven have been giving us trouble lately: (2010 OT win, 2009 Playoff loss, 2007 game that we were lucky to win and sustain a perfect record)

Last time Brady lost to the Steelers was in 04.

I picked the Chargers, btw. I think they have the most talent, AND have an elite QB. Clearly the rest of Pats nation doesn't think so. We are lucky to have them early in the season at home.

There's probably a few people that remember losing to the Jets 2 out of three last season, and that disappointing playoff loss at home when Sanchez had a 40 point edge over Brady in QB rating.*

*things that get overlooked in official pat homer stats.

Unbiased question guys since I had this debate at work with a Patriots fan

Who's better: Greg McElroy or Tom Brady?
