Alright, its safe to say they will not play tomorrow. Again, the news came of no transit around 12 today. Most that live in the city will not be able to go home once the game is over. The NFL will most likely issue a statement in the coming hours that the game will not be played. It doesnt make sense anymore to play a game at 2 tomorrow. It sucks but it is only a preseason game. We'll meet them during the R.S anyway.
It's too bad they can't push BOTH games back, play the Giants on Monday and the Eagles on Saturday. It'd be the same difference as playing Saturday-Thursday. But if mass transit's going to be shut down the way it is in NY they really do have to cancel.
Yup. @MikeGarafolo: Kickoff for Giants-Jets now scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday. Excellent and wise decision, if I may say so. #nyj
It's a sensible and logical decision, but it does beg the question as to the impact on the Eagles game - three days is a pretty small amount of time between games, particularly given that the starters would be likely to see a fair amount of reps in both.
Generally the 3rd game is when the starters get the most reps. Game 4 the starters usually get rested. Still- a short turn around.
I am guessing part of this is due to the fact the NYC is shutting down mass transit at noon tomorrow.
I bet we play only backups against the Eagles. Pissed about the postponement, but I guess the safety of human lives is worth something.
Fair enough. Apparently the game will be on WNBC on Monday. Assuming there's still a stadium to play it in.
That was going to be the case anyway, backups always play most of the last preseason game. I changed the title of the thread for the latest change
