OK, so Sanchez had better weapons to throw to and a better offensive line, but Freeman had more talent behind him in the backfield. So, Freeman puts up significantly better numbers, it must be because of what outsiders expected him to do
It's not about outsiders, TB had no pressure to win and played a creampuff sched. They beat ONE team w/ a winning record and that was NO w/ nothing to play for in week 17. 38-13 loss to Pitt(scored garbage time TD late) 31-6 loss to NO(Td was in 4th qtr of blowout). 27-21 loss to Atl(had KOR TD in that game so led his O to 14 pts) 17-10 loss to Bal 28-24 lsos to Atl(threw game ending pick) In those 5 games he led his O to an average of 13 PPG and that includes 2 garbage time TDs late in blowout losses so in reality it was 11 PPG. Let's see what he and the team do w/ expectations to win- it's a brand new ballgame for that team this season.
The #s against teams w/ winning records is skewed b/c his only win came against NO when they had nothing to play for so it should be 0-5 w/ 5 TDs, 4 INTs.
We've been over this, if you want to look at what Freeman did against good teams you need to look at Sanchez' performance. Should I be impressed by the whopping TWO wins? Or the incredible 16 PPG? Is the fact that he has a worst TD/INT ratio not relevant? How do you explain how they play against poor teams? Why is Freeman's completion percentage 10 points higher? Why is the TD/INT ratio is even more one sided? What's the reason? Oh I forgot. It's because of Legarrette Blount.
Sanchez beat NE and Pittsburgh which are 2 more big wins than Freeman and he lost 2 close games to GB and Bal and had the one blowout vs. NE which he redeemed himself for w/ the PLAYOFF win on the ROAD. Freeman is a good QB, we just don't know how good yet b/c he has yet to play in a meaningful game. The biggest game of his career he lost at home to a team that hadn't won a road game in 3 years.
Arguing with Jets fans about Sanchez is so predictable. Instead of answering the questions posed to you, you just lean on TEAM accomplishments. Yes, Mark Sanchez has played some impressive games in the playoffs, but that's not all that goes into evaluating a QB. So I ask you again, why is Josh Freeman so much better against weak teams than Sanchez? Because it's not like Sanchez has shown he can play much better than Freeman against good teams. I agree with you, the jury is still out on both QBs as far as how good they will eventually become. I don't have a crystal ball, so instead I focus on what they have already done. Against good teams, it's pretty even. Against weak teams, it's not even close.
You might say because he has to be and even then they don't make it to the games that count. You say Jets fans resort to team accomplishments but isn't that the only thing that counts?
It's the only thing that counts when you are talking about TEAMS. But it's definitely not the only thing that counts when discussing individual players.
No question, Sanchez needs to put up more consistent production during the regular season. Hard to argue with his postseason output. Still, I blame Schotty.
The same could be said of ANY fan base. They all tend to be myopic. It's no different with Pats fans. I mean, in my experience, Boston sports fans comprise the most stubbornly and passionately ignorant fan base I've ever encountered. However, I'm well aware that as a Jets fan, my view of them may well be colored. Of course, it doesn't help the NE cause that I hear the same thing from friends of rather far reaching teams as well.
You fucking assclown, you should be impressed by the 4 road playoff wins that he had in 2 years. Which, BTW, ties an NFL record. WTF, are you so worried about the Jets for? We're not even in the same conference as you. You remind me of a Dolphins fan...are all football fans from Florida fucking retarded?
This has got to be one of the dumbest fucknut statements I've ever seen. WHAT MATTERS IN THE NFL, ASSHOLE? THE SUPERBOWL! YOU DON'T SEE BRADY LINING UP AGAINST 11 OTHER PLAYERS DO YOU, FUCKFACE?
There's no way the Bucs will make the playoffs this year. The NFC is too deep. The Bucs will likely finish 3rd in the NFC South behind the Falcons and Saints and it's fairly likely that either the Giants / Cowboys or Eagles - whoever doesn't win the East - will get the other Wildcard. If not, I'd put money on either the Vikings and Lions finishing ahead of the Bucs in the WC standings.
OK. From now on we will only judge individual players based on the success of their team. I'm sure the discussion will be riveting. Everyone is in agreement that Brad Johnson was a better QB than Dan Marino right?
