Braylon was a lot better last year than in 2009 to say the least, but if Plaxico can play to his ability we have upgraded the spot.
Plaxico is BETTER in the redzone than Braylon will ever be. Our offense was horrible in the redzone last year, Braylon never could get open. I honestly only remember him catching that one TD week 2 against the Patriots, besides that he didnt have any other redzone TD in the regular season I think.
I don't wanna jump the gun, but the stuff Plaxico did last night gives me a few reasons to be optimistic about him.
I hope Plaxico does for Nacho, what he did for Eli Manning. Prison or not, Plaxico is a talented wideout, and very much still a threat. I can't believe anyone actually doubted this guy.
If Mark Sanchez can up his stats to say 23-25 TD, 10 interception. And if our defense stays the same or improves we are going to have a great season, better than last year. And the pressures not as high as it was last year, which should help the team. Hopefully we can avoid injuries
I think Plax is gonna do great for us this year. I'm not sure if he'll be better than Braylon, so its hard to say if we upgraded or not. Time will tell. This game was good for the optimist in me.
Braylon was a monster last year for us, including in big games. I'm not sure if being a dumbass off the field hurt his chances, but the market for him this summer league wide didn't reflect his performance on the field.
It took huge balls let Bray go and then to sign Plax without working him out. The guy looked great last night. Props to Tanny and Rex for being lucky, good, or both.
It was nice to see Plax get some good catches. Now let's see how it goes against some tougher pass defenses........
Does it matter? Nobody has enough to cover him, Holmes and Mason and that's all that matters. Maybe Philly but they still have to prove it.
honest question Did Plax really look that good last night in comparing him to what we would see from Edwards. I am hoping to catch the game replay on AFN this week so any insite would be great.
Burress and Edwards could not be more different as receivers. Although significantly faster than Plax, Edwards often struggled to get separation from DBs. While Edwards often made difficult catches, he frequently dropped routine, easy passes whereas PB's hands are among the most reliable and sure in the NFL. While by no means weak or small, he had trouble using his body or leaping ability to gain last moment separation as well as Burress who arguably has always used his advantages in size, strength and leaping ability better than most wideouts in the game today. Provided he can stay healthy (and with his history, that really remains to be seen) Burress is an upgrade overall, particularly in the redzone, er, I mean Cashzone.
