Chad Ochocinco thinks the hit he took Thursday night was a good clean football hit. I mentioned that myself in the "Other games" thread.

Paoletti cites Patriots receiver Chad Ochocinco as one example, as Ochocinco took to Twitter after Thursday night's preseason game and wrote the following to Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster: "great hit last night,if u're fined I'll reimburse u boss. That's the way the game should b played.Stay healthy n have a good yr."

Foster put a big hit on Ochocinco in the first quarter, drawing a personal foul.

Great move by ocho. Now we get to listen to the mefia and pats fans explain this as the patriot almighty way of life influencing ocho to do so.

In an era where players get fined for their hits, it is refreshing to see a receiver take it like a man. I get the helmet to helmet rule and support it, but on a bang-bang play, it is a difficult call when the offensive player is adjusting in space as the defender is going to lay a hit on him. There was no intent to injure in that play. I hated the call on Eric Smith on Boldin a few years back as it was clear that Boldin got hit from behind and that lead to the helmet to helmet hit.

This speaks more of ochocinco than it does the Pats... the man loves to play the game and respects its physical nature

Actually, I doubt the Pats coach is thrilled by any twitter posts from his players. I just think it was Ocho being a stand-up guy. I hink he's have done the same if he were still with the Bengals.

You've clearly got a complex dude.

Sorry if this doesn't meet your standard for an NFL message board thread.

You're swinging and missing alot lately with the attempted humor/sarcasm. Better put the skinhead avatar back up.

BTW, thanks for bumping that important Red headed Bengals QB thread back up!

I always liked Ocho and am interested to see what he can achieve on a good team, though its coming a couple of years too late probably.

I'm a proponent for the new player safety rules, but this was a clean hit even within them. didn't look like he led with his helmet or propelled at him, just put his shoulder into him with force.

Cool, but I've seen him lumped in with TO and others before, so I'd say some perceive him to be so. I'm with you though.

I think so. Everything that happens is not turned around by the media to snub or make the Jets look bad and the Patriots good. Sure, you can pick articles out of new england that slant everything towards the Pats, but there are plenty of articles that take the Jets slant also.

I just think the whole "we get no respect" angle is kinda been worn out now. I know alot of Boston "fans" who wore that shit out for years after it was no longer relevant.

The Jets have been to the Conference championship two years in a row and are a top 5 pick to get to the superbowl! How is that always being disrespected?

Say what you want about Ocho... but he's a true football player, and in a world of pussy WRs that's a big compliment.

    ochocinco Chad Ochocinco
@nflcommish Dad no disrespect but I don't agree with @mason_foster fine n I'll be reimbursing him personally. Please feel free to contact me

league told him not to, and hes tweeting that hes still going to do it.

belichick must love this trade right now. he went by the 'patriot way' for a week, ochocinco isnt going to be able to control his antics that have pissed/rubbed people the wrong way in locker rooms.

(before pats fans go gaga over what i said) im not saying chad is a dirt bag, or scum of the earth. just that he can be one annoying son of a bitch.

It has nothing to do with the jets getting respect. I meant how the media usually twists anything the patriots do into an almighty patriots/Belichick genius master plan.

The Haynesworth, Mallett, Shaun Ellis (at 4 million/year) moves would have gotten criticized if it were by other teams.

I liked ocho's personality. It's going to be interesting to see how he manages having his soul crushed by trying to adhere to the 'patriot way'.
