Sabathia vs. Duensing (rematch of ALDS Game 1). Yankees are a -220 favorite for this one. Hughes vs. Slowey Garcia vs. Liriano Burnett vs. Blackburn No Span, Kubel ,or Cuddyer in the lineup for the Twins tonight. No Baker in this series, and he's Minnesota's best starter this season. A-Rod is going to be there tonight, but not in the lineup.
The Yankees are 59-19 against the Twins since Gardenhire became manager, and this is the worst team that he's had. I'm feeling pretty good about this one.
Mauer playing right. I don't get why they couldn't bring up someone from the minors to play the outfield.
Apparently they tried, and the kid they called up got on the wrong plane. That kind of season for the Twins.
yeah they just talked about it hughes went to the wrong gate, cuddyer is away from the team for personal reasons, and tolbert has an injured wrist, so he can't bat
Ballgame over, Yankees win. Robertson and Wade were both unhittable tonight. If anyone missed this game, be sure to see a replay of Andruw Jones' home run. Probably the deepest shot hit by a Yankee this season.
He had an absolute bomb @ Toronto this year as well. I think third deck, probably of comparible distance. I wish he'd get better vs righties and take away at-bats from Jorge. Anyone know why Chavez hasn't been playing lately? I'd rather see him up there against righties than Jorge as well.
it was in the 3rd deck, total moonshot. Curt Schilling said the Yankees were going to slug their way to the title this year last night no matter who is on the mound, that turned my head.
I guess the Twins only carry 13 position players, because I was trying to figure out how they had no bench. 9 guys who started, plus: Cuddyer (injured) Tolbert (injured) Hughes (missed flight, got there in second inning or whatever) Kubel (personal leave) knowing that they had two guys who couldn't really play (three when Kubel took off), I don't get how they didn't add a position player.
Just as Bartolo begins to dwindle, it looks as if we'll be able to count on Mr. Phil Hughes. A third consecutive quality start. Fuckin' rights! Russell Martin with two dingers.
Phil Hughes has quietly been pretty awesome in his last few starts. He isn't striking too many people out but he's had late movement and he's keeping the ball down, which is always a good sign.
He pitches terribly yet again and has the audacity to show up Girardi as he walks off the mound? What a piece of shit. I think we all knew when they signed him it was a mistake, but this is ridiculous. With that said, this is the happiest I've ever been with the Yankees down 7 runs. This was a total AJ meltdown, one that cannot possibly be defended in any way, shape, or form, and there's no way he can stay in the rotation now.
