With Greene out with a skin infection, Joe McKnight out with a concussion, and LT just being old what is the deal with our HB situation for this game ? Is Bilal gonna be playing the entire game ? Do we even have any depth guys worth getting the ball ? If Bilal is all we got, are we going to significantly reduce Sanchez's snaps due to his lack of pass protection ? Just figured since our # 1 2 and 3 backs arent expected to touch the ball much at all that this could significantly impact the way we go into this sundays game.
Kind of offtopic but i want to see Sanchez come out like we are behind. Getting him into a rhythm with short easy throws is great and all. Do that in warm up. And come out with a purpose. /selfish
I'd go LT with the starters, then Powell the rest of the way whenever the starters go out. I don't know how long the starters play, but can't be that long.
Id assume theyd play into the second quarter, thats the road the Eagles/Steelers are atm. Do they really wanna run LT that much in pre season, I mean the guy has literally nothing to gain from preseason
We'll get a healthy dose of Powell. Probably not the entire game after LT but a good chunk of it. I'm looking forward to seeing him. I liked what little I saw on Monday night.
The pass pro concern is legit. Will probably be another game of simple quick hitters so we don't need to worry about Powell missing a blitzer and getting Sanchez killed.
I just got tickets to the Bengals game. What a bummer no Greene. Now if only Sanchez, Holmes, Keller, Burress, Mason, the entire o-line and entire Defensive starters don't play, there might, just MIGHT be a level playing field.
The starters will barely play into the 2nd, if at all. Whichever unit ends the 1st quarter will start the 2nd. Make sure the Bengals get the ball to start the quarter and we're probably looking at two series for the starting offense. LT can certainly play that long if necessary. It's not like we'll look to run the ball much with the 1s anyway. Not with the need to work out the passing game with Plax in. McKnight hasn't officially been ruled out for Sunday yet. We're all assuming that, but only Greene's absence is official.
