The Eric LeGrand story was a touching one. If he ever walks us out on the field, that would be epic! I'd consider getting a Jets jersey made with his name on it.
if he keeps performing like he did last week he will see alot more playing time than people think. he also appears to play more aggressive than westerman. I hope they just leave him at OLB come regular season so Mauga can actually get a chance to make some real plays.
I know Sanchez needs time to develop chemistry with his new targets......but while everyones celebrating the defense is anyone else not liking the fact Mark Sanchez is giving out INT's like charity today
Its practice and he's throwing too a receiver who has had less then a week of it in the last few years. He also has a Rex Ryan Defense with Revis and Cromartie in coverage.
excuses excuses jk thats why i said i understand he needs time but i read the updates it was like everyones getting in on it. but it would be nice to read about sanchez beating said defense on a more consistent basis. defense is always ahead of offense and sanchez ALWAYS has new targets so im not worried. just found that funny today
I'm not sure if one of you reported it already but the Greene absence is because of some type of skin infection on his foot. Stop fuckin with them hoes Shonn.lol Doin that freaky Rex Ryan shit http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...greene-miss-new-york-jets-game-skin-infection
I was at practice today I was a little worried about the weather going down but it turned out to be beautiful. Sorry I have no pics. Sanchez comes out of the facility and runs over to the far VIP section and hugs a few people before practice. With my binoculars (spelling) I look over and couldnt tell if it was his family but I saw a hot little blonde and noticed it was HAYDEN PANETTIERE!!!!! She found her way over to the other, closer VIP section near where Eric LeGrand was where she watched her boyfriend Scotty McKnight. I stood right behind the endzone where the action was, and let me ask anyone else who was there, did Sanchez even attempt a pass over 5 yards? 90% of the pass plays today were quick slants and a few outs which, as mentioned, one was BADLY thrown by Mark and picked by Cro. Mauga was impressive today and had a pick as well. The O-line depth still looked like a problem, as Robby Felix botched 2 snaps in a row and Ropati DESTROYED guys today both in 3 on 3s and scrimmage. Our hero Mike Campbell dropped another big pass from McElroy but made up for it with a TD a few plays later. I got Matt Slauson's autograph, I was the first one he signed because after taking his jersey off, nobody knew he was besides me in the area I was in. I bought a few things at the Jets Shop on the way out and what do you know I saw Jeff Weeks standing there buying something. I said "Jeff, can you sign this" and he was blown away that I even knew who he was. I had a little convo with him for a few minutes which was cool. Sanchez didn't really impress today but it's not alarming. He looked TERRIBLE last year the day I went to camp and I WAS a little worried about him but not this year. I've come to terms that we might have to face the fact that Mark is going to be a hot/cold QB no matter what. Yes its disappointing because if he was consistent and Schotty had the confidence in him we could light up the score board at will with this receiving corps but like I said I'm not concerned. The question about Mark since April 2009 was "can we win with him under center" and after 2 straight Championship games I think we have an answer.
Josh Mauga rushed from the edge when he made the sack on Matt Schaub. And he looked much faster than our other pass rushers while doing it. Bart Scott was once a pass rusher but was moved inside by Ryan because he was better suited for it. Mauga will probably move around as befits Ryan's mad scheming, but is not impossible that he sees much more duty lined up outside the O tackles.
I thought this was quite a telling few words from a brief inter view with Conner or maybe just an unfortunate construction of his thoughts See http://blog.newyorkjets.com/2011/08/18/throwback-conner-throwing-himself-into-new-role/ for the full piece
he came free on that play. He came free on the tackle for loss too. When he has to get off a block its going to be different.
If Josh Mauga struggles with blocks, why do you think he is better suited for the inside? Ryan attacks the inside of the offensive formation as much or more than the outside. And it is more difficult to shed a block between the tackles than from the edge, much more room to fight for position.
The sack was because of the formation - the Texans' offense was fooled by the way we lined up. Schaub didn't know who was coming. The tackle for loss was just a great read-and-react play by Mauga.
Per rich cimini Sione Pouha and Bart Scott won't play Sunday night, according to Ryan. Marcus Dixon won't play. Calvin Pace now has groin injury. Limited. Sounds great
JennyVrentas Jenny Vrentas Ducasse will start for Moore. Tevaseu will prob start for Pouha, but Ellis will see a lot of time. Mauga will start for B. Scott. #nyj
