Kaczur seems like an obvious choice. The team couldn't justify paying him with Vollmer and Connolly stepping up their play last season, but he could provide good depth here.

Oh my God, did you even watch the game last night? Landolt was terrible.

Woody's retired. Mentally he has stopped playing, physically he is probably nowhere near being ready, he has a shitload of money, his health and two rings, and he has a nice contract working as an analyst for ESPN which might not be there in a year's time if he goes back to playing.

I don't think that there is any chance Woody comes back, nice though the idea might be.

    At LT, sure...

Even at the end of the game he was still facing the #2 DEs and OLBs blitzing. If you watch him, you will see how many times he road the defender down to the ground. The main pressure getting through was up the middle and from the right side.

Go back and watch the take downs he did and you also will see no penalties on him.

Overall he did a good job under the pressure compared to the others.

He's also coming from a team that does a lot of zone blocking.

Health is a big question mark but he's started at both LT and RT.

Anyhow, I assume some good OL get released at cut down day and Tanny's made enough cap space that we should be able to pick up one or two.

I would agree with this line-up. Ducasse scares the hell out me. I like Landolt (Penn State bias - but he is a solid O-lineman). Kroul is a work in progress and needs developing (kudos to him for accepting the challenge to transition from DL to OL). If that MRI on Robert Turner comes back negative, Tanny will be all over that waiver wire.

Mmm... I wonder if Brian Waters would be interested in being the 6th OL here + having a shot at a SB ring... also Langston Walker could be brought in as a reserve T. Good run blocker.

Langston Walker would be a good fit in Rob Turner's spot - he's got the ability to play a little tackle eligible tight end.

It looks like Brunell is pushing for Jon Stinchcomb. Veteran depth is important - it was obvious last night that we don't have too much of that.

The question is how healthy is Stinchomb? If he just needs some minor rehab that would be the best scenario.

I like the Kaczur idea. He's a bit older but has less wear and tear because he was a 26 yr old rookie. He's a dick, but he would be a solid addition.

You know, with the Kaczur talk, I wish I had pointed out the Patriots situation to JetsFan before it was banned. It kept going on about how 1st rounders have to start in the first season or two in order to not be busts, but the Pats just took a guy in the 1st round who sure isn't starting over Matt Light and Sebastian Vollmer for the next two years. Apparently they didn't get the JetsFan memo. Maybe it should fire off an email to the Pats front office.

What about Trai Essex? He's a solid, if not spectacular lineman who can play both guard and tackle positions and could be a good depth/insurance policy for us. Does anyone know if he is still available?

I saw a mention in the Times today that the Jets might consider Sean O'Hara. Hm. Funny, I don't follow the Giants enough to realize he had been cut. He might be a good fit for the Jets.
