Mason, McElroy, Kerley, Cumberland and Powell. Josh Davis shows he has good hands. I like McElroy, he has some NFL QB DNA. He's special. Kerley, wow, what can you say, he's the real deal. A WR is going to have a hard time making that #5 Cumberland also reminds me of Chris Baker. Powell VS McKnight for spots 3 or 4. Our RB's are TOPNOTCH!!!! Having 4 badass RB's ain't bad.
Campbell. Rex cut his ass on the field (Don't know if this is true. Merely a manipulation of a HardKnocks Quote.)
McKnight will probably win it simply because he's more of a pass catching option than Powell. Powell will be ready to take the reigns once LT is gone though. I'm a little surprised that we didn't see Kerley in any Wildcat packages tonight.
Vlad had a few nice blocks in the running game but he got Turner hurt and almost got McElroy killed. I like P Turner but his lack of ST play may get him in the end. Where was S McKnight? Where was that TE we picked up? Powell flashed. I'm torn on McElroy. Part of me thinks he looked like a JV QB and part of me thinks he showed guts and the fact he did anything behind that o-line is saying something. Really surprised he made the mistake on the last play...that's suppose to be his strength (poise, smarts, etc)
Due to the lockout, probably a little too soon to play that style offense with unfamiliar personnel against a live defense. Last thing you want is Kerley getting hurt.
The thing about Turner though is that he sucks at ST. It's nice to have the 5-6th WR's double as STers.
Mike Campbell is from my hometown haha. I was looking forward to seeing him play and he had his chance to come up big and failed.
No, he wasn't kidding. That pass to #84 was right on the money. Hit in in stride in the hands. Campbell just dropped it. If the ball was thrown any harder, it would have sailed over or past Campbell. As for the "badly underthrown pass", you obviously weren't paying attention. The announcers said that McElroy and the receiver weren't on the same page. The receiver probably ran the wrong route.
It was #77 Clifford. He should be cut tomorrow. He's wasting a roster spot even in TC. He was awful. If Ducasse looked that bad, the Jets have no depth at OT. At least Landholt wasn't a turnstile. He was battling and not getting run over or past.
Picked up as UFA- Check Make debut on MNF - Check Open in end zone to win game - Check Make winning catch , tell kids for years to come .....err come back to me on that one I thought Greene looked quicker, great couple of moves and also caught the ball which adds a bit more to his game. Sanchez / Mason looked like they were already on wavelength...fact is veteran great wrs know how to find soft spots...this is why this pick up was huge Cumberland is a good No 2 , if he can improve his blocking he will create some issues. I like Turner, good size and knowsc how to use his body for me wrs would be Holmes, Plax,Mason,Turner, Kerley ..Payne gets IR'D! Our oline looked like shite in pass pro , but when yr starting Center and RG are missing it will tend to do that. However rin blocking was excellent. Lots to work on but when we get plax in , plus our oline we are who we said we were!!
I'm not so sure about that. His delivery at times rivaled Tim Tebow's in terms of speed. It it's possible that it is simply mechanics that need to be worked on, but Jets fans saw how little nearly a decade of technique adjustments helped deep pass velocity with Chad Pennington. Wounded duck passes down the field many times are just the results of a weak arm. And sometimes weak legs.
The reason why McElroy's passes looked soft is because he couldn't step into any throws because he was getting hit as he threw. He's also doesn't possess a cannon.
yet McKnight had 2 YAC more then Powell and it was against the second team; not the third team! Just saying......
The guy had no protection; has been in the system all of two weeks and nearly won the game but for a dropped long pass that was deep and on the money! Just saying...... By the way they dropped two sure TD passes on him.
