Rex had no reason to be hostile with Francesa.. it would just add fuel to Francesa's fire. He played it the proper way.. just be nice, very vanilla with the answers, dont give him anything big. Westhoff had the most telling interview of the day though.. he talked about how he was basically not pleased with the kicking game last year and didn't seem too thrilled about it in camp so far..
He's definitely going to say how Rex predicted they'd go undefeated this year since Rex said he expects to win every game going into it.
I thought Francesa did a surprisingly good job in the Rex interview. The Plax interview was funny. Francesa asked Plax the same question at least 5 times in a 2 minute span. So Plax, are you gonna be effected by not playing in 2 years? Plax - NO Then he re-asked the same question 4 times in a row in 4 different ways with Plax saying the same thing. I hate when Tank does that. So awkward.
Yeah the interview was actually excellent, if that's what we have to look forward to during the season than I'm glad this embargo is over cus Kay is a joke.
He did the same exact thing with Ryan constantly bringing up the guarantees and how Rex talks in the press.
Lifted my personal ban on fatty today. Been almost a year and a half. Sounds like he put on weight while I was away. Rex did a great job. He tried, unsuccessfully on several occasions, to just tell the fat one that as a head coach, its his job to believe his team will win it every year. He did on one occasion tell him that all coaches hopefully believe it...he just says it. He even started to say that he is surprised most coaches don’t just come out and say it...but el Grande interrupted him for the hundredth time. All and all...it was good stuff..but doesn’t count. Tomorrow really counts when the boys are not in his face and he gets the chance to show what a two face, backstabbing prick he really is..or the fight is really over. Regardless, humpty dumpty will try to make it look like the Jets couldn’t really get to the top without him in this City. As long as he believes that..that’s all that really counts.
I thought he was very good from the point of view that he brought up all of the issues, and gave everyone the chance to respond to his criticisms from the last two years - but - his interview skills really suck. His job is to draw out the person he is interviewing, and get them to talk. He cuts people off, and steps all over them while they are talking.

Most interesting revelation was that Rex talked to Gibbs to get his take on what he did in strike shortened seasons since Gibbs won the super bowl twice in strike years. Rex is all about winning and he uses all angles and resources at his disposal to get better. You have to love that about him. Other coaches are threatened or let their egos get in the way and won't bring in these really talented guys as advisors.
Great, that is exactly what Rex should say. The fact that fatass still fails to get that planning to win and expecting to win are big part of winning is hardly Rex's problem.

Yeah, it was the Shonn Greene TD at the end of the NE playoff game. Greene scored and Nantz immediately reacted as though someone had farted on his dinner. He must have been terribly disappointed by the Pats loss to choose THAT moment to comment on the behavior of modern athletes. Never forgive him. You hear that, Nantz??!!? NO FORGIVENESS!!!!!
