Moore might turn out to be our most important acquisition this offseason.

Apparently our Aussie punter has been booming some punts, looking good.

Major props to Coach Moore but if our most important off season acquisition is a 72 y.o. who'll be breaking down tapes from his basement in SC, then we might be in for a rough season. But seriously - hopefully he can help w/improving RZ efficiency in particular.

yep, just found this from Manish

    3. Although Nick Folk and T.J. Conley are listed as the first-team kicker and punter, PK Nick Novak and P Chris Bryan have performed better in the first week of camp. Keep an eye on both the kicking and punting competitions.

I was hoping he'd be at practices, in the meeting rooms, etc.....no?

Would like to have another Aussie punter. I remember all the hype when you guys came to the board for Ben Graham. Australians really do have an ability to kick it deep, and put an interesting spin on it. Hopefully it works better for us than Graham did if we take Bryan.

Well, Rex did say he liked what he saw. Something about Bryan taking less strides than every other punter to get it off and that Westhoff has been working on some things with him.

    He's 72, but I hear he's a beast.

he's around during training camp, but during the season he'll be home doing "advanced scouting" work. Basically, he'll be breaking down film and writing up suggestions 2 weeks before the opponent, and giving all that to Schotty the week leading up to the game from what I understand

It's too bad he won't be standing on the sidelines, and telling Schotty what play to call at 1st and Goal at the 2 during the AFCCG.

Maybe they're working up an iPod app for that.

I think Moore can be a big help but combine him with Schotty and I see lots of confusion. I know Rex thinks he's doing good here but I think Schotty has his own ideas and Shotty looks like the type to let things fail because he feels he does'nt need Moore around. Animosity might be the word. I hope this works out but I have my doubts.

He is retired, otherwise he would still be in Indy trying to get them to another superbowl. We are lucky to get what we are getting.

I went sunday, got there just as practice was starting. there were lots and lots of people but I was still able to get up to the fence (albeit not on the side of the best view) within 30-40 minutes because people rotate out to get drinks and a seat and stuff - watch out if its a hot day theres no shade.

Seems like plenty of fun for the kids though, bouncie castle, some games and face painting.

So our OC who has head coaching aspirations is going to let the offense tank because he is throwing a tantrum about having Tom Moore around giving advice?

    This isn't grade school.

For those of you that attended training camp, what time does the practice end?

Wow classic Rex moment on the presser.

Someone asked him about the injury update and said they saw quite a few people out of the practice.

Rex just went red-faced and said "Yeah I don't know if injury is the right word for that. Might be somethin else - maybe cut." Then he looks over at Bruce (the PR guy) like "uh...yeah we didn't do anything official yet did we?"

Shrugged and said "check you e-mails," and walks off as the whole press corp is cracking up.

Moore is the most significant acquisition, of the offseason in the entire NFL period.

    Should be a game changer.

    Just the opposite.

Our offense will live up to and exceed the potential of it's parts, for the first time in recent memory.

Sanchez came up huge, in huge spots last year. If you can make some progress on the down to down stuff, the O will be as feared as the D.

Does the fact that we hired a consultant mean that Schotty isn't good enough to be OC all by himself? Just saying.
