6 years... Terms aren't in the article... I'll look them up. Seems it'll save the Pats some more money off the cap for this year. He was gonna be $10.7 mil on the cap as a franchise... http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/31241446

Ochocinco, Haynesworth restructure deals August, 10, 2011 Aug 105:35PM ETEmail Print Comments37 By Mike RodakRecently acquired wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth have both restructured their contracts with the Patriots. The following are their new base salaries, according to NFLPA documents: Ochocinco: 2011 - $1,000,000 2012 - $3,000,000 2013 - $3,000,000 Haynesworth: 2011 - $1,500,000 2012 - $6,700,000
maybe not, that is a straight up prove it deal. He plays well they either give him an extension or trade him, he plays poorly or mediocre and they cut him loose.
The numbers are in on Logan Mankins‘ six-year contract with the Patriots, and the really eye-opening number is the signing bonus: $20 million. Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reports that the deal will pay Mankins a $1.5 million base salary this year, which means Mankins will make $21.5 million — or more than twice as much as he would have made if he played this season on the one-year franchise tender, which would have paid him a little more than $10 million. However, even though Mankins will receive twice as much money as he would have on the franchise tag, he’ll cost only half as much against the Patriots’ salary cap because the $20 million signing bonus is prorated over the six-year deal. In future seasons, Mankins will have a base salary of $3 million in 2012, $6 million in 2013, $6.5 million in 2014 and $7 million each in 2015 and 2016. Mankins can also earn a workout bonus of $250,000 a year, which would bring the total value of the six-year deal to $52.25 million. The deal makes Mankins the highest paid guard or center in football.
