Of course Plax will be fine, he's gone huge chunks of time not practicing and still playing good football. But his being out of the game combined with Mason's old age makes every receiver's injury a big deal. Quote of the day from Matt Slauson: "It seems like the Patriots love Jets players. I think its because Belichick up there wants some insights."
Hmm having a career backup special teams player (with 17 career tackles) getting to the "qb at will" makes me concerned about our offensive line.
TheJetsStream Manish Mehta Blocking TE Keith Zinger agrees to terms with 1-year deal with #Jets, per his agent @AlbertEliasMGMT #nyj Anybody know anything about him?
Considering the changes to our Oline, and that the team leader for sacks was 6.5 last season, id say it could certainly be cause for concern.
saw a tweet that sanchez went 5-16 in 11 on 11's what a dick. I was at the practice until 330 but we left cus it was too damn hot.
"Considering the changes"? If we wanted Woody back we could have had him. Obviously the FO and the coaches have confidence in Hunter and Ducasse at RT. You have to stop looking at the glass as half empty. I'm more intrigued by Westerman getting opportunities to rush the passer than I am worried about an offensive line that returns four of five starters.
So youre more worried about a career backup linebacker/special teamer than our entire starting offensive line which will have 2 of the following 3 starting on it Hunter/Ducasse/Slauson who have a combined 19 starts ever between the 3 of them ? Not being a pessimist or anything, but our offensive line should be something that we should be watching INCREDIBLY carefully this preseason. Its going to make or break our rushing game and will probably be the biggest factor in how successful/healthy our young qb can be this year
As long as Bill Callahan is here, I'm not going to be overly worried about our offensive line unless given a reason to be so. I am, however, interested to see how we plan on generating a pass rush this season. Jamaal Westerman should be a vital part of our pass rush this year.
Where'd you get that bullshit number from? Matt Slauson started 19 games last season by himself. Wayne Hunter has 7 career starts. He started 6 games (including the playoffs) last season and did a hell of a job filling in for Damien Woody.
I did exactly the same thing. Got home and looked at the tweet feed and went 'god dammit I stood around for the crappy parts and missed the best ones'
RichCimini Rich Cimini Diving catch by Kerley on 18-yard out...against Revis. Impressive #Jets This kid is gonna be good. He's giving Cimini no choice but to use a positive word.
there is some worry, but not nearly as much as he is making it out to be. Can Hunter hold up against the pounding a starting OL gets in a season? Did Slauson work his ass off not only to stay level, but improve during the lockout? with Ducasse now likely the primary backup, is our depth still strong enough if someone goes down?
Jets had far and away best offensive line in football. 3 all-pro's on the offensive line are returning along with last year's starter in Slauson and the upcomer Hunter who played throughout the playoffs and held his own. How the fuck is the offensive line even a concern for you guys? Guys like Ducasse and Turner are great depth.
