Have you thought about flying into Toronto and then sharing a car with IATA? Flight should be less than $500 and gives you more options than Air Canada, gas will be no more than $150 between you for the round trip - it's about 8 hours, I guess.
Might be cheap to stay at Harmon Meadow, which is close to the Stadium and has several places to eat and such. Also has jitney to/from the Secaucus junction Train Station which will take you into/from Manhatttan
It's a ball ache, but you could fly out Saturday morning, drive down to be in Jersey / NYC by Saturday evening, leave Monday morning and be back in the 'Peg by Monday evening. I can see that it's a lot of fucking around to save maybe $300, but it's doable.
i was planning on staying in Harmon Meadow the next time I flew out for a game. Nice area, and close to the stadium. There's an Outback Steakhouse, Chipotle and a Red Lobster in the vicinity I believe.
I heard that Canadian taxes are a fucking joke. I was talking to somebody the other day from Surrey and she told me she flies out of Bellingham on Allegiant because it saves a family of 4 nearly $400.00 in taxes. And people in the states hate Obama because they think our taxes are high. On most tickets in the states you pay about 12 dollars in fees and 7% in excise tax.
I m going to write a letter to Kate Upton. Maybe she will show up and give free blow jobs.......... I go first though. And Second
Can't imagine why anyone would want to stay in Jersey when a trip to the stadium is just a hop and a skip from midtown Manhattan. Cant imagine the difference in hotel prices being that much.
I'm going to stay at the Hampton Inn near the stadium as always. Price is good, its clean, and they have a free shuttle to the game. Its actually a pretty easy walk back as well. We aren't going to be in town long enough to bother with going into the city this time. We'll just spend the night and leave the next AM. I usually don't stay in the city because I've found the hotels are much more expensive there. However, I'm not from NY, so I don't have any insider info on what places are good deals in the city. I'm sure there are some good deals to be had, but I'm out of the loop.
Holiday Inn prices are close to equal. Jersey up 11 bucks (before taxes). But HM is a a Complex .5 miles from the stadium, and the living cost is lower. (It's a big courtyard with several places to eat and drink, which is assuredly a little cheaper.) Personally I'd choose Manhattan, and do museums and shit....but cutting costs sometimes matters.
I may sound wimpy but I'm gonna talk to the wife and see if I can swing it. I've got plenty of places to stay including about 5 minutes away in Seacuacus, I don't pay for airfare as my wife got layed off from an airline gig so I'd only need to come up with a game ticket. What are we looking at in terms of cost for a game ticket?
Found out today that I will be in attendance. It's going to cost me a day without pay from work....but with the level of participation, i had to find a way. It's going to be weird to not see Chris there, but it will be great to see the rest of you.
