Has any AFC team dramatically improved enough to make them the favorites?

This is what you guys don't get. Its not about INDIVIDUALS stopping INDIVIDUALS - The fact that Cromartie shut down Ocho LAST year. is completely irrelevant THIS season, because he will face him in an entirely different context. Different offense, Different QB, Different combination of WR threats.

The Jets D didn't shut down the Pats offense in the playoff game individually. It was effective because of how it meshed as a TEAM. On THAT day the Jets defense was actually BETTER than the sum of the individual parts.

Im pretty sure in man coverage its more of an individual game...we played a lot of zone coverage in the playoff game, but if we play man Cro WILL shut down 85.

Lets see how the Patriots offense comes out this year, will they use the tightends as much? heck where was Hernandez and Gronkowski in the playoff game? were they even in the building?

IMO the Patriots are in more trouble than they realize, I will stress again their is NO CHANCE that Brady has a year like last year. On top of that, what are you going to do with that offense? basing it around 2 tightends and Woodhead worked for about 11 weeks, but was completely exposed against us and Mangenius, so where do you go from their?

If Brady was faster and didnt look like a 500 lb man running around out their, then your offense could work, but Brady is the slowest athlete ive ever seen. Against the Jets he had so many times he had open field to run but couldnt do it because hes slow. All you got to do is send a 3 man rush, and send 8 defensive players back and the Patriots offense is dead.

And the patriots were hella lucky that we didnt recover both of woodheads fumbles, bradys fumble and crumpler catching Harris on Bradys pick. Or else we coulda been lookin at a game where the Jets coulda put up 50+ points on ya.

im absolutely baffled as to why there are actually pats fans that participate in a forum named THE GANG GREEN. i would rather eat glass than log on to a patriots website. any1 on that logs onto this forum that is not a jets fan really needs to question themselves.

will someone back me up here?

Maybe a majority of the pats fans on their boards are dickholes, so they visit this site to talk reasonably about the two teams? Dunno.

And the Jets are lucky that Alge Crumpler flat-out dropped a pass in the end zone that would have made the score 14-0 in the first quarter.

You think that an offense that scored 32.3 points per game last year "doesn't work"? I think that ranks them like 11th all time or something.

I mean, I understand if you don't think they'll be historically great again next year (I don't think they will be), but that's an offense that certainly works... Even if Brady regresses to the mean, that's a hell of an offense.

Yeah, the J-E-T-S...we have the '85 Bears defense, Sanchise says so.

Maybe they weren't covering him because he cought 6 passes all last year. WTF is Alge Crumpler doing on the field in a meaningful playoff game? The guy was done.

He was a really good blocking tight end last year who also has(usually) reliable hands. He didn't need to catch passes last year because of the emergence of Hernandez and Gronkowski. Earlier in his career, he was one of the best tight ends in the league. Too bad he didn't catch that, but to say he shouldn't have been on the field is overstating it a bit.

You're right Brady was a dick to throw the ball to him and embarrass his ass when he was only on the field to block.

    28 > 21

"what 'IF'?"....ah, the time-honored trump card of the eventual loser....

Ask yourself these questions 'Rudyard': score?...venue?....point spread?...

    move on

I've moved on for sure. Not sure your coach has though with his constant referring to the Patriots every chance he gets. You better dust off those big Lombardi trophies they gave you after beating the Patriots. Oh wait, they didn't give you any?

Uhm, except that would have made it 7-0, not 14-0. Nice try, though

Also, The Pats were lucky RIGHT BEFORE THAT when Folk missed a chip shot FG after David Harris picked off Brady.

And Finally, the Jets led by two scores for most of that game. They totally outplayed the Pats that day. Acting like the Patriots were even close to the better team that day is quite silly.
