Every person in the NFL no matter who they are,,,,,,,lie. ALL OF THEM. You don't trust Tanny at all? Him, and Woody getting Rex, and making the playoffs 2 straight years in a row, and drafting a QB 5th overall, who has the most road playoff wins in NFL history?

Look everything Rex/Tanny do are not going to work out. This is obvious, but I think they deserve more respect, for what they have done correct.

#28Martin, one last thing about Ellis. It was said a few weeks ago that if Ellis was brought back he was not going to be guaranteed a roster spot. Rex said that he's planning on having a 5 or 6 man rotation on the d-line. You can bet that 4 of those guys are going to be Pouha, DeVito, Wilkerson, and K Ellis. If Ellis signed here he would have been competing with Marcus Dixon, Ropati Pitoitua, and Jarron Gilbert for 1 or 2 roster spots. I'm willing to bet that Ellis would have had his work cut out for him. Now, we were not going to pay a 34 year old defensive lineman not even guaranteed of a roster spot $2 mil to ride the pine. Aside from the money, Ellis knew this so it only made sense for him to chase the guaranteed money that New England offered him.

so are the patriots going to sign 30+ year old Dlinemen every year, or eventually draft some kids? its funny how Pats fans have been bashing us for signing old players, and not developing our own. Now we are, and the Jets are crazy for doing it!

I can see why Ellis would take the cash..... $4 million is a massive overpay. Have fun, Shaun.

Have we heard anything about this Pitoitua? After that injury last pre-season, haven't heard anything about him. I know they liked him.

Shaun Ellis got 4 million and possibly 5 million with incentives - WOW! That tells me that the Jets are getting to the Pats. The Pats are worried. For them to overpay like that for a Jet is shocking. I think the Pats made a big mistake here.

Good point! I would rather have Warren. To bad he signed with Denver while we were waiting on Nnamdi.

Well I hope nobody holds any grudges or harbors any hatred for Shaun Ellis anymore.. nobody can blame him for taking that deal. And nobody can blame the Jets for not offering him that deal (except for 28martin I'm sure).
