Who that the Jets have unjustly let go in the past 4 or 5 years has come back to haunt them and prove them wrong for doing so?

    Woodhead ...............................

This F-in over the veterans is a new Tanny thing. Let's see what Cotchery and Edwards end up doing.

All of a sudden, Ellis choosing the Pats isn't all business like the board wants to make it when Tanny offers a minimal offer.

I think people are over-racting a little bit to this. First off, it's a business. He got a better deal from NE and NYJ chose not to match it. What's he supposed to do? No one on this board has any right to tell anyone how to make their living. Secondly, he's 34-years old. This isn't Shaun Ellis in his prime. He's on the tail end of his career. Ellis had a monster game against NE in the playoffs, but also had a pretty subpar season to boot.

He'll always be a Jet in my book.

you may be right. if they upped it to 1.5 he may have accepted it, but sounds kinda lame he'd sell out jets fans for $140K more though haha. he's at the end of his career like mason & LT he's already financially set for life. don't know if it will haunt us but it sure hurts our depth.

Short change? How do you know that? We don't even know the terms of either offer.I call it fair value at this point. This is all about ego from a players perspective. The fact of the matter is that when you are under-performing accept that and move on. If it was money then go were the value is. The Jets payed him top dollar when he deserved it.

You mean the awful OL that was 2nd overall in the NFL in ypg last year, 3rd in passing ypg and 4th in rushing ypg? The OL that gave up the 4th least sacks in the NFL last year.

Well that awful line drafted a top notch left tackle (Solder) and a potential monster at guard (Cannon) and they'll have Mankins the whole season while losing only Stephen Neal who was out most of last year anyway.

Woodhead was NOT unjustly cut. We didn't have a place for him. The Pats did. Go back to the time he was cut. Several of us saw him succeeding in NE like he never would have here. It was the ONLY team I didn't want to see him go to.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but this is what bothers me. Gastineau has the all time NY Jets sack record with 74. Shaun Ellis has 72.5...why in the world would a player leave for another team for a few extra bucks, and leave the chance to be your teams all time sack leader???? I understand that the NFL is a business, and players need to take care of themselves first...but don't these guys have any pride??? I would think that any professional athlete would die for the chance to be their team's ALL TIME sack leader...

Because of what IJR said earlier.

The man needs to get as much money as he can before he retires. In 10 years, he is not going to be able to walk without a cane and will probably suffer from some sort of dementia.

They couldn't keep Ellis off Brady in a playoff game..that is the consummate definition of awful.

For the people that think Shaun Ellis should have taken a Jets league veteran minimum offer for one year over a 1 year deal with the Pastes...

Which is the better situation for a player his age seeking one last payday?

Playing for a championship contender next to Wilfork and Haynesworth.

Playing for a championship contender next to Kenrick Ellis and Wilkerson?

WHERE do you come up with these rediculous numbers?????? The sack wasn't even an offical stat until 1982...Klecko had 24 offical sacks in his entire career.

Another guys who was out most of the year last year. Connolly was the most consistent at that guard spot.... and he's a hell of a kick returner.
