YES! This is definitely a message board. A place for people to share their opinions, a place for people to read those opinions and notice their lack of reasonability and naked agenda, and also a place where you have a pretty good chance of finding a troll or two.
con·ti·nu·i·ty a : uninterrupted connection, succession, or union b : uninterrupted duration or continuation especially without essential change This is what we need not speed
Continuity is very nice but a pro's pro like Mason helps make the adjustment better. If Sanchez improves as expected the goal should be to do the same thing that Pitt and GB (and to a lesser extent NE and Indy) do and try and keep a bunch of B+ guys around for a long period of time rather than bring in new A- guys every year.
as long as we keep cotchery im fine with mason gives mark 4 legit weapons and good insurance in case plaxico has trouble early on
I'd love to keep cotchery but I can't get over Mike T's press conference. He just made it so obvious that Cotch was not in team's long term plans.
Uh...there's really no need for Cotchery if they sign Mason. We have young WRs we should be developing, not cutting them to make room for 3 receivers who are not long for this team.
Yeah I don't get this move at all if it happens. Even if Cotchery isn't 100%, he HAS to be a much better option than Mason. And is $1.8 million really that big of a cap number? Really?
It's not as if Kerley and McKnight are blue chip prospects the team would be blocking. Unless something unexpected happens, the team probably sees Kerley as a long-term slot receiver and gadget player. It would hardly stunt his growth to spend one year mainly as a special teams player. Besides, the value of depth can not be overstated.
It's not 1.8 million. It's 450k this year and 4 million next. And yes, that's significant with our major signings this offseason and last.
I guess the earliest we will hear anything is late this afternoon. RichCimini Rich Cimini Hearing that Derrick Mason is on 11:30 am flight from Nashville to NJ to meet with #Jets.
