Hopefully Plax will be a redzone beast. Without Plax the Giants don't even make the playoffs IMO. Yes I now its been years since he played, but isn't there prison football?

I was pretty much joking, but on a serious topic. I completely agree, a big target like Plax will be a tremendous tool for Mark. He never was a speed guy and you don't lose height in prison. I'm pretty confident he has a pretty solid year, even if it's just a red zone target.

Unfortunately, a lot of the teams that have a pure go-route guy find them inconsistent and they underperform (Devery Henderson, Legedu Naanee). That's what kept Clowney on the roster for years, that desire for a go-route giy. Now? We have a guy like Santonio who has wheels but also has a multifaceted game. He can stretch the field when needed, but he's not a one trick pony.

There are plenty of weights, and by all accounts he found a lot of space to run. I've heard people wondering where he could run, but not all prisons have a cramped yard. Some have a ton of grass space.

Yes, people know cap numbers once the contract details are released. That's why we don't know numbers very well for this season, but for next season, the contracts already released paint a somewhat bleak picture. Jason at nyjetscap.com is great at staying on top of the numbers.

I'd rather have Cotchery on the team

I am in favor of the Mason signing.

However, has anyone considered that they may keep Cotch (Cothery) and possibly restructure his deal? Or do a release and resign?

Although JCo doesn't have the stats equal to Mason, he's been as dynamic as he could be for a team with a weak QB and then a run heavy team. He definitely has intangibles worth keeping around. And he is still a top notch #3 WR for any team in this league.

I would hate to see JCo go. Its obvious he's a fan favorite from the posts in this thread.

Fav JCo moment - Leaping catch, landing on a Pats defender and running in for the TD.

Yeah I was arguing with a Pats fan about that, and the age of Brady and Plax.

Plax just needs to jog to the corner, mark throws it high, and it's over. I think that's what the Giants did pretty much every time. lol

A restructure is to lower the cap number for this year. It's next year that needs the help. A cut and re-sign could conceivably work, but they really have no reason to do that if they're signing Mason. I don't think Cotch fits into the team's long term plans. Drafting a solid young receiver next year would give Sanchez at least 4 years of the same 3 starting receivers. That's a fantastic plan.

For those worried about the lack of a speedster, the Raiders are 15 million over the cap and will soon be purging salaries. There's a chance one of their speedsters gets cut. Would anyone bite? Really? No one? Hello?

That would be grand! That's all I want for Sanchez, for him to be able to really develop chemistry season after season.

I wouldn't mind this if it weren't for all the whispers that he will be a replacement for Cotch.I'm not opposed to veteran depth but not at the expense of a player that has been $ for us pretty much his whole career.
So if all this is true Sanchez will have 2 new recievers and another who he has only played with for 3/4 of a season? So much for continuity?

I still think the guy can play but I mean he's old, like real old, and small. Though he's still got good hands.

I just don't see how this is a better option than restructuring a 29 year old veterans contract who knows the system and QB better than anyone on offence.

Holmes is a star. Burress is coming off of two years in jail, Mason is 37.

I'm still iffy about this scenario, but I know for a fact, Rex, and Tanny know more about the Jets, than I do.(STUNNING) Either Cotchery is fucked up, or they believe Mason>Cotchery(anyway).

Cotchery obviously makes my balls tingle, but what can ya do? Nobody will give a shit when, Mason catches a huge 3rd down pass over the middle, and is drilled.

Am I the only one whose subject to suspensions? I mean this to me seems pretty direct.

Holmes is fast enough for me. He's got some special acceleration as well.

    Catch him if you can.

He's got that lightning fast change in direction, I bet he's a good B-ball player.

I think perhaps people get a bit of leeway when dealing with you. To be honest, you do seem like you're either a troll or one of those fans who simply like to complain about the team and don't truly understand the game or the business behind it. If that's not the case, you should really consider changing the way you post to show people you're misunderstood. Right now, you get quite defensive about some very ignorant, angry, and offensive opinions. I'll just leave it at that.
