Sad, but the Jets would be better off trying to get Randy Moss to accept a 1 year deal then to waste any time or money on Edwards...
The point is - the article posted above says that someone else involved in the fight may still be arrested. If Braylon is that person -- and the article suggests he was egging things on -- his value on the market will be his last worry. He will have violated his probation and will be in serious legal trouble.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/03/rex-ryan-wants-braylon-edwards-at-the-right-price/ If we got Braylon back for cheap I would be completely on board. I have no complaints about his performance on the field this past season, and I think it only helps Sanchez and our offense keep up with some of the other high powered offenses we'll have to go through if we want to win a championship.
Deadspin is a rag, but they seem to back up that article a page or two back: I don't know what type of cash we should offer this guy. This is all sounding... worse than initially thought.
hes most likely going to jail. The JETS will visit him then when he gets out, he'll remember that Rex and Tanny cared then sign with us to a cheap deal.
And wtf is he thinking even going out during the FA period... man I was big on Bray but what a dumbass he can be.
Can't wait to see him and Plax line up in the Felon formation. Seriously, Braylon is no where near worth the trouble with the numbers he puts up, compared to Malcom Floyd who is still on the market. If he stays out of jail, maybe we can get him super-cheap. I can't see how other teams are going to bother if he wants a long term deal.
he pushed a busboy big deal. So we can sign ex-convicts but Braylon pushes a guy and we ban Braylon. This is football who cares.
I don't give a shit about the morality of it, but I'm pretty sure he's on probation so an assault charge might send him to jail.
The big deal is he's on probation in Ohio with a suspended 180 day sentence hanging over his head for another altercation at a club. If this rumor is true he'll most like get his ass thrown in Jail for the 180 days + how ever long it takes him to get in front of a Judge. Adding to that is that even being in the club would be a probation violation for his New York DUI, which could add more jail time if the officer in charge of his case sees fit to. This was not a mistake, this was a major fuck up by a guy with a lot of consequences ready to fall on his head.
If Braylon goes to jail for violating his probation than it's probably going to be hard for Braylon to play football. That is why people care.
