Rex always talks up his players tho. That's why it's hard for me to believe what he says about them is true until they show it on the field. He gave Ghost a lot of unwarranted praise.
Gholston didn't know which way to run on the field. Ellis hasn't made any mistakes yet with the alignments. it was just a point of interest.
Ghost was a maligned player when he got here, so talking him up may have been to try to boost the kid's confidence. K. Ellis is an unknown quantity, so when he sees that the rookie is doing all he can do to be ready, that is commentary from Rex I would trust.
Ok...because they do not play the same position, or were drafted in the same round I did not understand why the comparison would be made. It is good that he has not made mistakes in the alignments, hopefully the kid will get to play early on..

I watched the highlight reel of him in the texas vs. the nation game. Not a freak athlete for his size like KJ but still very mobile and active. Good to hear the attention to detail he's putting in.
If these young D line big bodies like Wilk, Rapoti and Ellis can make a solid contribution right off the bat it will make a world of difference in this defense. With 3 guys I like the chances of at least one or possibly two making an immediate impact. Last year there wasn't one D lineman that could demand a double team. With Ropati's height and wing span he should be able to at least block the QB's vision and clog up some throwing lanes towards the middle of the field which where our LB'ers are weaker in coverage. Getting push up the middle from these guys could also help the LB's in coverage as well.
I listened and watched his interview today posted on Jets website. I was very surprised that he did not come off like a jerk after reading about his past troubles. he actually seems like a good person who gets it, not a selfish stupid arrogant punk
Didnt he get in trouble for beating the shit out of some guy who came after him and his girlfriend? I don't know of any troubles aside from that.
On an off topic, gholston note, how great is it that his virtual non existence hasn't really hurt this team? Yes, they don't have the top 10 pass rusher, but things could be worse. Pretty nice to see a complete failure not immensely impact the team negatively the way he could have. And some of that has to do with the paycut he took.
you sure you read about his past then? it basically consist of smoking weed in college and breaking the face of a guy who came at a girl of his with a baseball bat so we have a jamaican badass who puffs trees and crushes the faces of potential womanizers. cant wait to see him against Roethlisberger
