I think Seattle gets him, they are dangling John Carlson as trade bait. who would be someone of interest for the Giants...

How in the hell would Atlanta use Umenyiora?

They just spent a lot to bring in Ray Edwards and John Abraham plays on the other side.

Edwards might be able to play a little defensive tackle I guess.

If he can fit in BAL and NE, he can definitely fit here.

You want to give up a second rounder for a guy that we won't be able to pay next year?

Baltimore and New England can extend him, so a trade makes more sense for them.

No, you're right. But to say that he doesn't fit isn't true, IMO. Maybe if we didn't re-sign David Harris.

    I know that I'm right.

David Harris had to be re-signed.

No one knows for sure if Umenyiora can play standing up. If the Pats or Ravens acquire him, they'll be taking a huge risk hoping that he can transition into a new scheme.

...so saying that he won't fit here isn't a big deal, because no one can prove that until he actually lines up and produces in a 34 defense.

Now do yourself a favor and stop dreaming up unrealistic scenarios for this team.

Ravens basically play a 4-3. The Patriots are transitioning to a 4-3 base this year.

Patriots have been in a one-gapping 43 base all of TC so far I've read.

Suits the players we have better, in my opinion. Addition of Haynesworth should help with the QB pressure issues and also keep him happy because he won't be a NT.

Wasn't a dream, just a thought. I don't think I ever even said I wanted to Osi, or Osi over Harris.

So, with the Harris Franchise tag in place and us now under the cap, it would seem that Mike T has his finger on the trigger button once more

I don't think it's unreasonable based on his pedigree.

I would give up a second for him. Even if we can't resign him (though as I pointed out above, I'm sure Tanny could figure it out), it would be worth the risk. I think we would all agree that even if Cro had signed elsewhere in FA, we would've done the 2nd round pick trade with SD over again. It'd be a similar situation with Osi. He could be the missing piece. But then again, doubt they trade him here.
