I forgot to hit the submit reply button when I first cut and pasted the story in the other thread. My bad.
I didn't even notice your post until you pointed it out. I just see the same twitter message repeated over and over.
Did we sign Nnamdi Asomugha yet? kidding...kidding It was a little disappointing that we didn't land the guy, but everything worked out in the end. Antonio Cromartie came back and our secondary won't miss a beat. Hopefully James Ihedigbo re-signs as well. Sad to see guys like Drew Coleman and Brad Smith go, but they are replaceable players. I'm a little skeptical about the signing of Plaxico Burress. Financially, it's not a bad deal at all. The two years away from the game are what scares me. As for Jerricho Cotchery being on the block, I'm indifferent about it. It sounds like Mike Tannenbaum has something up his sleeve. Edwards still hasn't signed anywhere yet...just something to think about.
People that understand this game are sad to see a valuable role player go. Continuity will be huge in 2011 for every team. The New York Jets have a lot of it.
"rmandoSalguero Armando Salguero BREAKING: Jason Taylor announces on his Facebook page that he is returning to the Dolphins: www.Facebook.com/jasontaylorfoundation" There was some buzz recently that he might be back as a Jet, guess not. Now he can try and breakdown what he learned here all of last season.
Yes, Plax being away from football for two years can be a concern, but on the bright side, he's not as banged up as a 33 years old would be. Its like a car parked in a garage for two years. It might get dusty and the battery might die, but u put a brand new battery in there, get a wash, and it'll run just like it did before. Plax will be fine by the time we play Patriots. As for Cotchery, I don't think Edwards will be coming here. He's gonna demand almost three times as much as Cotchery (who's making little over $3mil). I don't think we will have $8-9mil to pay Edwards regardless of what happens to Cotch. But if Tanny can squeeze him in somehow, Im all for it. Cotch does have a lot of dead money if cut, but not sure if the dead money counts if he's traded? If yes, then the saving is less than half a mil according to nyjetscap.com
pretty much how i feel except, the bolded is the ONLY fuckin scenario I wouldnt shit bricks by moving Cotchery. ive been harping on the fact that Cotchery is the ONLY target Sanchez has had his 2 years here. and I dont see anyone else being an upgrade over him except Edwards. so lets just hope either it leads to Edwards return, or we get to see the beginning of Cotchery's farewell tour for the next cple years
I think a lot of people thought this was the same Drew Coleman who played under Mangini. He played the best ball of his career last year and I'd much rather have a healthy Drew Coleman as our 4th CB then a Donald Strickland who can't see to stay on the field. I think Strickland is much more physical but that tends to get him injured. I still think we beat the Colts if he doesn't leave on the like the 3rd play of the game.
I'm not bothered by Taylor leaving. Wasn't impressed with him (except for that nice Saftey in the Steelers game)
TheJetsStream Manish Mehta Source confirms that #Jets linebacker Bart Scott did take a pay cut for 2011. He was scheduled to earn $4.9M base salary this year. #nyj TheJetsStream Manish Mehta I was also told Bart Scott's relationship w/Rex Ryan had lot to do w/his decision to agree to play at reduced rate & free up cap space #nyj
