Just throw Kyle Wilson into the fire. Fucking Al Davis started a clusterfuck in what cornerbacks get paid these days. If it wasn't for Nnamdi's original 16 million dollar contract and then Revis holdout last year these guys would only demand 8 million tops. If he gets signed it will be 4-5 years at 10 million+.
Well Aso and Revis are worth the big contracts but anybody beyond that isn't worth more than 8 mil per. And Cromartie isn't the #3 CB in the league
Joseph got 5 years // 49 million (24 grntd). Cromartie will get in the same ballpark. I trust Wilson can do well with the sideline helping him out. Strickland played solid nickel in 2009 when healthy. It's not worth being in cap hell because of Cro.
I've heard CB Carlos Rogers' name mentioned in this thread. Firstly, is he a FA? I know he has experience in man coverage, I believe he was pretty good in it. Obviously, if Washington is letting him walk there's something I'm missing. Discuss Carlos Rogers.
If the Jets are going through coal and fire to avoid Wilson starting or being in a prominent role, that would worry me even more than actually overpaying for Cro. Sounds like they already think their pick was a mistake or isn't going to work out as anything more than a nickel or dime back.
