    Exactly. It will be buried in the contract somewhere in the form of attainable incentives and such, but there is no way it will come in the shape of guaranteed money (which I'm sure you'd agree). Cro is still a risk, and from reports, the Jets aren't too fond of him anyway. They will not overpay. Once the deal is done, the numbers floated out there will seem crazy, but once the details come out, I'm sure we'll all be saying how Tanny worked his magic again.

    cro has a lot of kids so he probably needs a deal that provides as much in terms of long term security that he get. hopefully he is ready to play football.

    I really don't want to overpay for Cromartie, I'm a little nervous a big contract could go to his head and/or he'd go back to being the SD Cromartie that caused them to move him.

    If he wants a huge deal, I'd just sign Carlos Rogers instead to compete with Wilson, and use the extra cash to go after a pass-rusher like Matt Roth.

    Oh please, Cromartie said before FA he was going for the last dollar and the Jets weren't getting a hometown discount, ANYONE is going to have to overpay for him. And a lot of other CB's signed too so Cromartie looks better to the teams who have been left out in the cold.

    I like that a deal hasn't been reached with Cro.. makes me think Tanny is sticking to his guns

    Lets redirect that money to Lofa Tatupu. that'd be sick

    Haha. Half this thread is discussion of whether it should have been a thread. It was completely new news, which deserves a thread. Mambo was just upset because he had already posted the news in the unwieldy FA thread. Everyone wants to break the story.

    friday,when aso was in play i was refreshing pages every five minutes.now since cro is the second choice i will only be refreshing every ten minutes
