dont like plax, but it's 3 million so whatever.

  2. Big target, short-term deal. Obviously, there will need to be some plan down the road to land a long-term #2 for Santonio, but short-term, this is fine.

Its not really a bad gamble Sims Walker got a 1 year 3.7 mil deal . I think he is just as much a risk as Plax he's coming from a team with no other wry so he had to have a lot of throws his way . I think Plax could potentially have a better year than MSW and we got him for less

I think it can be assumed that the Jets are proceeding with Cotchery as the #2 given the names they have been connected with.

-Plax: You don't sign a guy who spent the last two seasons out of the game to be a starter. He'll be here to take redzone snaps while he tries to work his way back into football shape.

-Moss: Decoy at best at this point.

-James Jones: Not a starter by any stretch. His hands when healthy were worse than Cotchery's with the back injury.

Who did I forget(aside from Braylon)?

Sirius NFL interviewed him 2 weeks ago. He's driven to make a comeback. He talked up the Jets as a great spot to land. He's been running 300 yd. shuttles and lifting weights in prison (according to him). He's not just going to be fat and lazy when he comes back. He'll have some cobwebs, but he's far from just some guy cashing a paycheck.

It was a money decision... probably couldnt afford both Cro and Bray so you would have to choose the one thats harder to replace and that would be Cro

trying to replace bray is no small task though but when he was at his best Plax was better than Bray

smart move but thats ONYL if they get cro to come back also

He might have actually stepped up his training regimen while in prison. I remember hearing that he was getting lazy in his last couple of seasons with the Giants.

I think its kinda silly to think that Plax would be a #3 all year for us. Football shape? He has all of training camp to get back into football shape. Its not as if he's been sittting on his ass eating twinkies for 2 years.

This is a big target at a lower price than Edwards wanted. We also have the youngster Kerley in the wings, who while a completely different skill set, gives us depth now and options for the future if he pans out. I don't see us as any worse off on offense than last year.

Edwards put up "decent" numbers in an offense that at best is balanced and more likely to rely on the running game when we are ahead. The Jets staff made it obvious how much better of a weapon they felt Holmes is over Edwards. Now we have added anoter peice to a receiving core that brings back Cothcery, Keller, and Holmes from last season. If Plax pans out at all we are right back being a complete offense with lots of options on every play.

I think it's a good move for you. It'll be interesting to see how he compares to Edwards in the offense. Either way it'll be tough on our DBs.

A few of the Giants went to visit him and said he was training like a bau5. I think it was Osi who said he was in the best shape of his life.

I'm not sure why we need to pigeonhole Plax and Cotchery as #2 or #3; we'll surely see each used in different positions, against different defences, in different offensive packages.

Also, I just had a flashback to Cotchery's amazing one-legged diving catch against the Browns in overtime after he had been injured on the play.

Only problem I can think of is the year Burress was caught with that gun he wasn't that great. I think he was hurt the whole time if I remember right.
