Thank you for confirming what I thought. I did not watch enough of JJ to give an educated opinion. Cro is certainly an elite athlete, football player, not so much. You would think with his freakish athletic ability he would be better with the shifty route runners not just the stretch the field Randy Moss types. Safe to say tackling is not his strong suit. We are in agreement as far as Cro goes.
Another name to throw out there for OLB is Mark Anderson. He's been a passrushing specialist everywhere he's been due to him not being big enough for a starting DE(6-4, 255 4.61). Blew up his rookie year, has seen less and less playing time since. He's a long bodied speed rusher who I think could and always should have been a Hybrid OLB.
What are people's thoughts on bringing in Carlos Rogers as the #2 CB, if Cro's too expensive? He's started 41 of 44 games for the Redskins the past 3 years; I think he'd be a good guy to bring in to compete with Wilson if no Cromartie. Haven't heard his name tossed around here too much.
I'd rather go with Wilson than bring in Rogers. Wilson, in my opinion, could be a guy who could be an elite corner if he just keeps learning his craft. My main problem with him last year was him not turning his head around to locate the ball and taking bad PI penalties, but his speed and coverage was surprisingly good.
Where waiting on a 34 year old past prime receiver who has been getting butt raped in prison the last 2 years and a mystery corner, maybe Aaron Glenn is coming out of retirement.
I'm trying to stay level headed about this but it's weird to say the least. Tannenbaum is usually outstanding in free agency and tooling contracts but I'm sitting here scratching my head. Is the free agent class next year supposed to be really good or something.. Are the Jets saving money?
After Rex missed out on Aso, he threw in the towel and quit. I hate to say it but its painfully obvious. 2-14 anyone?
Garbage...; we could have scrubs on the field and still be ranked top 10 defense we go as sanchez does
My biggest............. gripe with Wilson last year was where was he on special teams. Didnt he lead the nation in kick returns in college. Some claim he played better towards the end of the season. He did spend time with Revis this offseason. And Revis was just as bad his first year on the job.
what the hell is this team doing....we still need a number 2 wideout, a number 2 DB, a passrusher, a saftey, and a DE. I understand the all of your eggs in the ASO basket but DB's are all signing but CRO, Ellis/Warren are still out there, B Edwards wants the Jets bad..... Wilson proved nothing last year, he was a rookie but are we all the confident he can play opposite Revis. With as many balls that are going to come his way. Who is going to play saftey...E Smith stepped up big time, Jim is coming off of an injury. We all talk about Cotch/Kerley but Cotch is coming off of an injury and Kerley is a rookie.... We can not sit on the side and watch these teams like the Rams/Eagles/Seattle/Pats sign players.....we might not like these players being signed but these teams are doing something to improve.
Well............. hopefully we improved via the draft! We drafted two big bodies up front on D. And a few WR's. Safety is an issue. And i can only pray we see something out of Calvin Pace this year. Should be healthier they say.
