I'm reduced to a me too post at this point. Healthy Strickland is awesome for the Jets.

Rotoworld said this guy isnt even a lock to make the roster this year.

I mean hes better than Coleman, but who knows at this point.

I think the real question is gonna be whether Wilson is gonna be our Nickle or #2, as that will completely impact Stricklands possible role here

I may be reading too much into this but the Strickland signing could mean a lot about our ability to go get Cro. Strickland is a very solid #3 CB. If he's the number 3 than that puts Wilson at the 2 or the 4. Do we really think management is going to put our former first rounder at the number 4? Its possible Strickland is our #4, but I feel that wouldn't be utilizing his talents properly.

Given Strickland's injury history he's probably the number 4. Against the spread offenses of the Colts and Patritos it's nice to have a guy like that (may not be a great cover guy but will knock the hell out of his assignment)

my point is instead of making the offense a priority and helping sanchez develop

rex wanting to give aso a footjob cost us a severe amount of continuity for the offense

if we were so hell bent on upgrading at CB we shouldve just signed Joseph.

now were sitting around getting excited over injury prone WR who couldnt make a name for himself in SD.

and a nickel/dime back whos health (and whiffing on lito) was the reason we drafted wilson.

I think too many people are counting Wilson out as well. In some limited action down the stretch he was better for us. We drafted him high
thinking he would be our number two might be time to give him that shot.

We traded for Cromartie before the draft.

I thought Strick was a good player with us and the team really rallied around him after the cheap shot he took against the Pats

Depth signing. Revis had his best year with him on the other side. yayayayaya its not ******.

Lets remember we still have the top CB in the league on our team.

Is Cole expected to be active every week? I remember him playing well against Pitt last year in the regular season (Week 15?) game.

it makes no sense to demote him because of his injury history ... when hes healthy, hes a very good slot corner

Strickland is a great depth signing. If they're relying on just him and Wilson to start, that would be ill-advised in this system. But as a dime back, which I assume he'll be, I really like this signing. If he plays like he did in 2009, he can get more playing time. And if he gets hurt in a big spot again, well, fuck.

really cause when your not on the field your not contributing.

were downgrading our db's AND counting on him to be healthy.

I like the signing but I wouldn't really be comfortable with Wilson as our #2 until he proves me wrong.

    groundbreaking stuff

if hes better than the #3 corner, it makes no sense to make him #4 because he might get injured

its obvious that revis/cro/k-dub is an upgrade over revis/k-dub/strickland ... the question is how much better is it and is it worth the price difference now that cro is about to get serious coin

I don't think cro was in the long term plans at that point. It was more of let's go for it move. The fact that Wilson struggled last yr has opened a door to bringing him back but I doubt we drafted a corner in the first round to be nickel corner for his entire career.

You bring him in and treat him like Wilson. If he steps up, great, you can start him or put him as the main nickel back. If he struggles or is hurt, you can make him the dime back.

We're going to bring in one more cornerback. I'd be shocked otherwise.
