Agreed. I don't want a guy over 30 who hasn't played in 2 years. We really have no idea what he brings to the table at this point. If Braylon is out of the equation, I'd much rather have Floyd or Jones.
With Plaxico, I guess it comes down to how much skill you think he lost in the past two years and how long it'll take to get back to form, if possible. I don't think there's anyone here who wouldn't love to have this guy on the Jets 2 years ago. I don't know why, but I bet he's in good shape and it won't take long to get a feel for the game back. Even though he'll be 34 this year, he didn't spend the last 2 years getting beat up (minus any prison rapings). Plus, he's still 6'5". Can't teach that.
Manish on NFL Network: "The Jets will not be reuniting with Edwards. it's not gonna happen. He will not be with the New York Jets" UGH!!!!!
He doesn't stretch the field, so he doesn't even need to be in great shape. As long as he remembers how to use his height to position in the red zone, he'll be useful to the Jets. I have to say though, knowing that we aren't getting Edwards back, I kind of wish that we had made a play for Ochocinco.
are we not signing braylon because of the money? i dont understand I thought we cleared up all this caproom for aso and now we can't even get our guys back? I feel like were in the twilight zone.
if im plax i go to steelers and get another ring. end of story. were seriously going to expect sanchez to develop with our number 2 option being someone who just got done using cigarettes as currency the last 2 years. oh and hes 33 or wtfever. just cut the fuckin losses and get james jones keep floyd the fuck out of here with his 29 yr old injury prone unable to make a name for himself in one of the most explosive passing attacks ass. they have no problem tying up all that money at CB but to help our so called "Franchise" it suddenly becomes an issue 6 yrs not a year over even at 800 yards. AWESOME
That's the $64,000 question. Sounds like either another big move is on the way or we are being fiscally conservative this year.
I just really cant see how its about the money. - He wants to be back - He hinted to taking a bit of a discount - WR contracts for players in his range havent been insane(see sims-walker) - We seem to have freed up a ton of cash - We didnt place ANY tender on him prior to the lockout. - He tweeted a while back he wanted to be here but felt the feeling wasnt mutual - No signs we even made an offer This just all stinks of the Jets not being interested in his services.
There's also the chance that Woody decided that Braylon is out of the team since his DUI. That he gave the order that no matter if Braylon was willing to play for free, he's out of the team. Owners messing with sports decisions because of a tantrum has happened before everywhere in every sport, it wouldn't be a first.
I'm baffled as to why they seem to have no interest in him. Other teams don't seem to be knocking each other over to get in line to sign him either. Considering he wanted to be here, it's just odd.
This is an outrage...So they had the money to bid on a pro bowl corner when they already have the best one in football, they lost out on that (which I don't blame THEM for) but they don't have the money to bring back their own WR, who has made it completely clear that he really wants to come back? Just doesn't add up to me. They are going to regret this, I am sure of it.
I don't understand this at all. After the NA saga I really had my hopes up that we'd bring back Cro/Braylon
Me too. From everything I'm reading/hearing it looks like we will overpay for Cro and lose Edwards, with the chance we lose both.
