He played his role, knows Rex's defense and is a leader for the team. He's a good fit for the team but in the biggest game of his career he was awful.

Bart Scott is one of the best TED LBs in the game.

Average at best is unfair to what scott did last year.

He got a market value contract too.

Like NDmick said, he does his job extremely well.

Don't let his stats fool you, Bart Scott is a very good LB.

What is this? I said this days ago and got attacked. Wow, there are Jet fans who actually watch the games. He is overrated.

Have you read the posts after that one? We are arguing with him just like we did to you.

    Stop crying.

Bart Scott is underrated because people only notice how he might have a penalty and not put up gaudy stats during the games.

The board likes him cause he has a big mouth. Last season, the Can't Wait comment. All that led to was going up to Pittsburgh and watch him play a poor game.

He has his role, Rex loves him and he knows the defense. But he can't cover, he lost a step and isn't half as good as some want to pretend he is.

Seriously, how is he underrated? He's treated like he's a star. And like I said, if he followed up the Can't Wait famous comment with a stellar game in Pittsburgh, it would be one thing. That never happened. Yes, he does open things up for Harris, yes, he definitely is a leader. But he has shortcomings also.

Bart Scott is a very good ILB. Read (or re-read) this interview with BS from a few weeks ago.

"Rex, whatever you need me to do … let’s do it. I trust him that if this is for the better of the team and this is going to make us win, I don’t give a flying f*** if I get no tackles, but I’ll [blow-up] this fullback every time for my linebacker to get one. I couldn’t care less."

I don't think any knowledgeable fan ever said Bart Scott was better than Ray Lewis.

He does have a much bigger impact than people think though.
