I know what you mean. But when you boil it down, these guys are wrong more times then they are right. I'm all for continutity but we were extrememly fortunate last year to have 2 numbers 1s. We all expected to have one or another this season. So if it happens, we really shouldn't be surprised. Lets remember we have Cotchery still, and he is one of the better 2s in the league. So IMO we still are pretty fortunate. I personally wouldn't be surprised if we see Jones or Floyd. That said, who knows! All we can do is hope for the best!
I hate to say it, but I really think we should overpay for Braylon. I've said it before, but I'd much rather go with a WR duo of Braylon-Santonio and Wilson-Revis than Santonio and some scrub on opposite sides of the field.
We need Cro more then we need BE. The "other" CB position may be the most important since that is the target of opposing QB's as opposed to throwing at Revis.
Guys, this is a business. Players and agents know how it goes, and they realize when other players are worth more. Its not like they negotiated for one janitor over another, these guys are professional athletes. Why do you think Braylon and Cro waited around? Besides FA didn't officially begin till 6pm last night.
other way around. If Lito Sheppard got this team to the AFCCG. Kyle Wilson can do the same. Braylon is paramount to Sanchez become a better QB, and being stronger in the playoffs. And last January, the Jets lost because the fucking front 7 got their assholes raped.
It's a money thing? Ok I don't get this...obviously I'm not privy to what goes on behind closed doors but who's chaasing him atm? I would think he would have gotten an offer by now
Exactly. Our biggest concern going into this offseason should have been consistency on offense. It turned out being our least concern.
Dont take this literally but we had the number 1 ranked defense before Cromartie...whod we have? Lito Sheppard/Whoever on the other side of Revis. With Cromartie Number 3 defense, Yea i know but i said dont take it literally. Point is overall we are fine on D signing someone who can just do a decent job, plus see where Kyle Wilson takes us. Stability on offense was our problem last year, best way to fix that is give Sanchez his guys back. Spend the money on Edwards and let Rex work his magic with whoever we can get for the money thats left.
This... + how about having some faith in Wilson? We all had an orgasm when we signed him and he's only been in the league one year. I really don't understand why all the love for Cro... he's good but isn't a very reliable corner. I'd much rather have Joseph than him and certainly feel he is NOT worth big money.
I get how our board consensus isn't being followed, which is fine considering none of us are as smart as Mike Tannenbaum. But this is a head scratcher. What are the thoughts inside the FO meeting rooms? What's their real cap room right now? Why no Pool or Braylon? Why all of the sudden they have no cash? Its just peculiar. And what happens is that unanswered questions turn posters into angry folk. The Jets go into TC on August 4th, and no one has been signed yet while TC starts today for most teams. So since the other 31 teams aren't gobbling up our former players, or the other ones we have eyes on, the virtue of patience has to be practiced here.
Me too. Wilk might be able to make a quicker impact. He could see increased snaps after the bye week. Ellis might take until year 2 or 3. He's raw, but plenty of potential. Wilk is more important than Ellis when it comes to depth and rotation, so he needs to get up to speed faster.
This isn't a nightmare.... A nightmare would have Revis holding out this season, and having questions at 4 positions. This is just the Jets not having all star talent up and down the roster, and Mike T and company making tougher decisions. I want Malcolm Floyd. He can catch the deep ball pretty well, and Sanchez throws a pretty deep ball.
Cro doesn't play like a Jet (love that phrase. Thanks Rex!) Good on deep routes, but not tough or physical. That's not my type of corner. He did do a fine job here, but not an amazing job.
