Have their been any reports of the Jets having even a remote interest in Jenkins or Roth?

Since A$$hole and Cromartie have the same agent I would have thought plan B would have been already in motion....

I'm more confused than anything. I was initially really pissed when I heard about it in the car but now I just don't get it. It clearly wasn't a money thing unless the Jets weren't going > 10 million a year or something. He signed a reasonable deal and he thinks the Eagles have a better shot at a Super Bowl than the Jets? The Eagles look real good right now but holy fuck

Those are the cap hits for Eagles, not other teams. If he's traded, Jets only pay base salary, which is:

    5.9
    8.4
    10.4

I liked the thought that everyone wants to play for the Jets. I thought they were beyond getting played. Maybe that disappoints me the most.

  6. Roth I could understand. Jenkins? After this draft, is there a gaping need on the DL?

That's my whole point. It's insulting. Makes no sense.

Judging by the contract the Jets weren't played, he chose to play for somebody else. Nobody told the Jets to go all out for Aso.

Well they are also banking on Vick being good again since they traded Kevin Kolb. Do not forget that Vick never put together back to back good seasons in Atlanta.

So anyone have any idea how much cap room we have now that this Asomugha fiasco is behind us?

    highly doubtful...

charles johnson got 6 for 72,

Ray edwards the #2 DE got 5 for 30.

Jenkins is older and has some injury woes. I think his deal will be pretty close to edwards, hopefully a little less.

Jenkins would be awesome for us.

I've been saying it for 2 hours, plan B, should be Chris Carr, James Jones and Cullen Jenkins for the cap space Nnamdi would have taken.

I won't complain if its Cro and Edwards, but Carr isn't that far from Cro, Rex likes the guy, and will be much cheaper. Jones is a younger version of Edwards (complete with the dropsies) and Jenkins is an upgrade along the DL.

I would love Braylon back, but I do think we could get Jones for cheaper and not lose much overall.

It would certainly be stellar to add those three to the fold. But we have to work pretty hard and pretty fast to make it happen.

Exactly. I'd be furious if we looked at Cullen. Braylon is priority, then Cro.

Eagles were probably about as good as the Jets were before this signing, so I'd guess it came down to money honestly. We may not have guaranteed quite as much.

Yeah.. and I doubt he'd ever see that 10.4 in the 3rd year. Could be a real good replacement for the next 2 years, and probably cheaper than what it woudl take to land Cro money wise. Of course we'd lose a draft pick though.

I still think Cromartie will be coming back, and we'll see Tanny make a trade, whether for a safety or pass rusher.. something none of us saw coming.
