Poor Brunells debt, he's only been posting for a week and now his name is obsolete.

Wonder if he'll retire or we'll try to bring him back for the vet min? We still need a backup QB now with Brunell and KC gone.

This might be just to free up additional space for Nnamdi. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets resigned him after the NA drama is over.

    Always funny.

I'm sure the Jets will sign him right back. No way they try to get someone new at the QB position to learn the system and be ready for the season.

People go bankrupt all the time. Brunell has been playing in the NFL for 19 seasons, so he's had a good cash flow for quite a while. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over his financial problems.

Jets | Want to re-sign Mark Brunell
    Fri, 29 Jul 2011 10:35:55 -0700

The New York Jets want to re-sign QB Mark Brunell, who was just released. The team wants to bring him back at a lesser price to continue as the mentor to QB Mark Sanchez.

O'Connell is no surprise at all. The Jets tried to release him at the beginning of last year, only to find out they released him while injured, which was not allowed. So they had to keep him on all last season. I don't think they ever intended on using him, which is why we got McElroy.

Probably for vet minimum which is $910K. He was due 1.25MIL so basically it just opens a spot for a rookie to make the minimum which is $375K. Not much saved. Better than nothing I guess.
