    Honestly it is a win-win at this point. Braylon has not been signed yet for a reason, I genuinely think the Jets are his first option. What a terrible problem to have; Nnamdi Asomughoa or Braylon Edwards + others. :)

    The Jets initially contacted Asomugha Tuesday. The 49ers and the Texans were also in hot pursuit, but now the Joseph deal presumably eliminates Houston from the race. But Tampa Bay -- which has been relatively quiet in free agency thus far -- has also been in the mix, per a person with knowledge of the teams competing for Asomugha's services.

    What's next? Early this evening, the Jets were asking Asomugha for a decision, per a person informed of the communication between the sides.

    These people requested anonymity because of the tenuous nature of negotiations.

    The Jets have been in a holding period in free agency as they wait for Asomugha's decision. He's worth the wait -- if they win.

    You obviously have not seen Johnson play often.

    Also, be careful of making judgments of players off of one game. If a non-Jet only watched the Jets-Raiders game in 2009 and watched no other Jets games, that particular person might think David Clowney is a good NFL wideout.

    Detroit and Minnesota both finished 6-10.

    The whole thing just screams of smokescreen. When one of the three main targets bows out, suddenly a bunch of other teams come out of the woodwork? Come on! I mean, within a half hour, a bunch of other teams are linked to him?

    probably not a legit source but i'll post it anyway. the madden ratings person donny moore tweets. he definitely wouldn't make it up anything up but I've never seen him break stories.

    My new-inside-will-remain-un-named sources report Mr. Nnamdi Asmougha will be a Jet Jet Jet in next 12 hours.
