Going back and watching that last drive of the Texans game... Sure, Holmes and Edwards can take the credit, but Mark Sanchez was the man that made it all happen. He made 4 or 5 outstanding plays, kept the drive moving and placed two perfect balls that found Edwards and Holmes right in their hands on stride.
Tanny had nothing to do with the Holmes signing. 'Someone' pulled a fire alarm and while Tanny was standing in the parking lot Rex snuck into his office, added a few zeros, and hit the send button.
I've been a HUGE Braylon Edwards fan the past few seasons with us, and I like the big target, but at the end of the day Holmes' explosiveness cannot be let go. I'm happy we kept him, but will be sad to see Braylon go.
It's beautiful watching Holmes run a quick slant followed by taking it to the house. He's an excellent route runner, but once he catches the ball? He becomes a running back in the open field. He's gone. I also love how Santonio pulls for the defense when he's on the sideline; he's a true team player.

When I think of Santonio Holmes, I always think of the last words Alge Crumpler uttered before the Patriots season ended: "they talked it, they walked it." Holmes always backs up his big talk. No wonder Rex Ryan likes him so much.
Great news! Now we really really need for Braylon to stay in NY this season, he was lights out for us during the regular season and kickass during the playoffs. I do not want to replace Edwards with Moss. Braylon really showed me something, he was unbelievable!
Just bought my White Holmes jersey, been dying to get one since we traded for him. But I was tenative because if we didnt resign him I woulda been pissed as hell. I decided I was going to get a Cromartie/Edwards/Holmes Jersey, whoever we signed first. Hopefully I will be buying an Asomougha jersey soon...
I assume this deal is really functionally a 3/$24M, with like a $10M salary in year 4 that we may not cut him for, and $16M salary in year 5 that we're sure to cut him for. Usually when evaluating a contract, the two salient factors are the guaranteed money, and the salary in the first three years. The rest is usually optional for the team (as that's when the guaranteed money usually ends).
you jinxed it by naming your kid "Braylon". I'm holding you responsible if we end up losing him to FA.
