Jets moving on from Weatherford / New Punter

    According to Manish, the Jets are moving on from Weatherford and won't be offering him a new contract.

    I thought Weatherford was pretty great last year, but then he completely crapped the bed in the playoffs. I guess Westhoff is not a fan. I imagine punter is a position the Jets are going to try and go cheap on, so maybe they'll go with that guy they had in camp last year.. I think his name was TJ Conley?

    They were impressed with Conley last year. Hopefully he has improved enough that he is a viable option now.

    He sucked two years in a row in the playoffs. Gotta show up when it matters.

    I'm kind of disappointed in this. I know he didn't do well in the playoffs but he was outstanding during the regular season. With the exception of running with the ball on that fake punt, of course. :)

    Uh if it was so well earned then why was it only a one year? I think well earned is a little over stating it. He did well enough to warrant keeping around.

    Been waiting for Conley to get a legitimate shot at the job since we picked him up after the 2009 draft.

    Weatherford went from all-pro punter to shitbag in the playoffs. This is probably a money move anyway. This Conley guy is pretty good from the looks of it.
